Challenge This unique project involved the creation of Scotland’s first multi-franchise motorcycle sales and service facility on a shared site within one of the country’s highest-profile and busiest business parks. The £10 million venture came courtesy not just Pacific’s undoubted expertise in constructing ground-up structures of substantial scale to deadline and to budget but also as a result of the company’s location within Hillington itself. It was imperative that the motorbike “village” struck a stylish and striking presence in its prime location adjacent to the M8, which would afford easy access to existing and potential customers. Both companies’ previous premises had been smaller and not easily accessible in busy city centre locations. Approach Liaison with architects, design teams, suppliers and sub-contractors was key as Pacific drew on their vast experience of delivering projects of substantial scale and cost to deadline and to budget. The project, comprising one building for Harley-Davidson and a second nearby for Ducati/Triumph, was commenced in the summer of 2016 and was handed over to the clients in January, 2017. Paramount to achieving the desired high-end results were Pacific’s ability to pay attention to detail and listening to the clients’ wishes at regular update meetings. Results The multi-franchise village is now the new home to three of the biggest names on motorcycling – Harley-Davidson, Ducati and Triumph – and it is welcoming huge numbers of customers and visitors every week. The visually striking buildings have together become something of a talking point among motorcyclists and passers-by. www.pacificbuilding.co.uk West Coast Harley-Davidson and Ducati-Triumph Hillington Client: WC Harley-Davidson and Ducati Glasgow Location: Hillington, Glasgow Value: £10,000,000 Timescale: 26 weeks Case Study
