About Amara Signature Shanghai

Amara Signature Shanghai adjoins 100 AM Shanghai, a 10,500-square-meter business complex containing an office building, a shopping mall, a food court, and a cinema. The hotel is located at the intersection of Jiaozhou Road and Changshou Road, which is one of the trunk roads running through downtown Shanghai. It is only a 10-minute drive from the hotel to the bustling Jing' an Temple and Zhongshan Park business districts, a 30-minute drive to Hongqiao International Airport, and a 50-minute drive to Pudong International Airport.

Amara Signature Shanghai has 343 spacious guest rooms and suites from the 7th floor to the 30th floor of the building. These rooms offer comfortable beds, baths with bathtubs, additional spa facilities, free wireless broadband access, colour LCD TVs from 43 inches to 55 inches, satellite channels, and other communication facilities.

The hotel has meeting spaces comprising a total area of more than 1,100 square metres, including a large banquet hall, ten multifunctional halls and meeting rooms of different sizes. All meeting spaces are equipped with advanced conferencing facilities. The hotel offers 191 underground parking spaces to cater to the needs of meetings and banquets of various scales.

Case Presentation

AMARA had its soft opening on 23 January 2018. Initially, the hotel was faced with the challenges of gaining access to the market, increasing brand awareness, and sourcing reliable returning customers. However, for a new hotel brand that had just started its business in China, it is very difficult to enter into cooperation with global companies. Fortunately, the HRS platform had significantly increased the opportunities to win RFP companies as customers, and helped us stabilise our customer base. As shown in our guest analysis, we were also able to source many returning customers. It would have been very difficult for Amara Signature Shanghai to achieve such high performance without the HRS platform.

Result Analysis

Shortly after AMARA joined the HRS 2018 Market Place project at the end of 2017, it signed a cooperation agreement with its first RFP company, and achieved satisfying results. Afterwards, we have gained more opportunities to win RFP companies as customers through the HRS platform.

Starting from July, we began to successively receive 2019 RFP bidding projects recommended by HRS Shanghai, and successfully took part in more RFP bidding projects via the HRS platform. The HRS platform offers many opportunities which is exactly what a new hotel brand needs in the early stage.

Current customer source classification: business 65%, OTA 20% and leisure 15%.
