ForewordCreating an environment for a strong culture of

entrepreneurship is a key for economic development of the country. It is heartening to mention that India has been growing at a relatively high rate in the last few years, and is likely to be the largest economy in the world by 2050. Fortunately, India is a young country with about 63 percent population currently being in the working age group of 15 to 59 years and it is pertinent to mention that improved training and skill development is critical for providing wage employment or

self-employment. The Ministry of MSME has been implementing skill training through National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme)to help and assist potential people to become entrepreneurs or secure wage employment under the “Scheme of Assistance to Training Institutes” since 2009-10 onwards. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Ministry in conducting the programmes.

It has been a journey of full of challenges. In general, most of youth are interested to go for wage employment as most of them are not aware of the policies and schemes of the Ministry. They are also not equipped with necessary skills to venture into business or secure wage employment. Therefore, there was a need for programme on entrepreneurship and skill development with practical learning. ni-msme has been privileged to be a part of this noble initiative through scheme of Assistance to Training Institutes since inception. ni-msme has been Implementing the scheme in Southern India through various esteemed partner Institutions. We are putting our best efforts to impart effective training, monitoring and follow up. The efforts of ni-msme and its partner Institutions is resulting in to success of our trainees. ni-msme has already brought one volume of success stories.

Moving forward, ni-msme would like to bring out few more success stories to present a glance of the joint efforts of ni-msme & its Partner Institutions in nurturing entrepreneurship and enterprises in many locations of few States. The credits of this success goes to collective efforts of Ministry of MSME, ni-msme family & its Partner Institutions and our trainees for their efforts in learning, enhancing their skills and endeavor to start their business.

These cases will continue to inspire various stakeholders as well as the future generation of Trainees. In this context, we would like to thank the Heads of partner Institutions, Programme coordinators and ni-msme Faculty members for their commitment and effective implementation of the scheme for empowering the youth through necessary skills for self and wage employment.

FROM THE CEO’S DESKEntrepreneurship and Skill Development play an

important role in uemployment eradication. The Primer Minister has taken Skill & Entrepreneurship Development mission for Self Employment and Employment at national level. A target has been fixed for skilling of 500 million people by the year 2022 in which it is expected to achieve employable skill development.

While doing this there is a need to create skilled manpower for development of MSME Sector and to implement the slogan “Make in India” in true letter and spirit. Ministry of MSME has been implementing various schemes and programmes.

Time Industrial & Entrepreneurship Development Institute is connected with “Assistance to Training Institute” Scheme and we are proud of that. Through this scheme we have reached down to grass root level in Western Maharashtra &Norther Karnataka for more than 15 years to implement the Government policy for Rural Development and Employable Skilled Manpower creation. We are playing a major role in Entrepreneurship & Skill Development. Our efforts will be to appreciate the candidates trained from these training programmes by extending them helping hand and give strength to their feathers. As a part of this effort this collection of success stories is being published for the information of concerned people and the governing people and will prove to be motivating to other trainees.

ABOUT TIME INSTITUTETime Industrial & Entrepreneurship Development Instiute (Time Institute) has been

established during 1999 and is Registered under Registration of Societies Act 1860 vide Registration No Maharashtra/ 14376/ Kolhapur dated 29-4-1999 and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 vide Registration No F-14266-Kolhapur dated 24-6-1999 with an objective of providing Professional Education, Skill Development, Conduct Research & Experiments, Entrepreneurship Development, Develop Technologies, Set up Infrastructure.

Mission/ObjectiveTime Institute is in the area of Entrepreneurship Development, Soft Skill

Development, Skill Development, HR Development and Enterprise Development since last 15 years. Keeping pace with the national policy on Skill Development Timee Institute, being Partner Institute of theMSME Ministry have the following mission/objective to achieve :-(a) Entrepreneurship Development for self-employment through PMEGP, ESDP courses

and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.(b) Employable Skilled Manpower Development for MSME/Industrial Sector through

Government of India.Working Area, Infrastructure & NetworkThe Institute is working in 5 districts of Western Maharashtra namely Kolhapur,

Sangli, Satara, Solapur and Pune and 5 districts of Karnatak and Goa. The Institute has its Head Office and full fledged Training Centre at Kolhapur. We have established Branch Offices &full fledged Training Centres at District Headquarters and extended training centres at Taluka level. The Institute has already established 50 Training Centres and is in the process of establishing another 25 Training Centres with the help of National Skill Development Corporation. (NSDC).

Assocition & RecognitionTime Institute is associated with/recognized by various Government Agencies/

Departments. The details of association/recognition are as underAssociation with Directorate of Industries, Government of MaharashtraSince its inception the Institute is associated with the Directorate of Industries

through District Industries Centres for conduct of training programmes.(a) From the year 2000-01 the Institute conducted PMRY training programmes sponsored

by Directorate of Industries upto 2007.(b) Vide GR No SSI/2001/3062/(7626)/Industries-18 dated 07-02-2002, and GR No SSI-

2003/Trg Pro-7918/Indstries-7 dated 29-10-2007, the Government of Maharashtra laid down the revised policy regarding conduct of

Entrepreneurship Training Programmes for Special Component and Open Component respectively.

NIMSME Hyderabad. The Institute has been appointed as Partner Institute of National Institute of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (NIMSME), Hyderbad, Government of India, Ministry of MSME appointed vide letter No SEE/PI/2010-11/1499 dated 20-9-2010. Time Institute has conducted training programmes of NIMSME during the year 2010-11 to 2012-13.

National Skill Development Corporation During 2014 Time Institute has been selected as Training Partner for conduct of training programmes under NSDC Star Scheme in Automotive Sector.

Training Programmes of MSME Development Institute, Mumbai. We have rendered support to MSME Development Institute, Mumbai for conduct of their Management Development Programmes, ESDPs and EDPs.

Assocition with Other Government AgenciesNABARD. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Maharashtra

Regional Office, Pune had allotted to our Institute the responsibility for conduct of REDPs

& SDPs during the year 2010-11 and 2011-12. R-SETI Training Programme of Bank of India. The Institute has also conducted one

R-SETI Training Programme of Bank of India during the year 2011-12.

Experience and EvaluationThe Institute has conducted 685 training programmes of the above Government

Agencies from the year 2006-07 to 2013-14 in which more than 20 thousand candidates have been trained.

Time Institute provides hand hold support to the candidates for establishment of self employment.

Employable Skilled Manpower Solution (Mentor+). Time Institute in association with its sister concern Deccan Management

Consultants Finishing School, Pune (recognized by Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra) has started Employable Skilled Manpower Solution called Mentor + (an “earn and learn” programme) under which the candidates trained by Time Institute are placed in various industries on “On the Job Training” with stipend. On completion of 1, 2 and 3 years on “On the Job Training” the candidates are awarded Certificate / Diploma of Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth,Pune).

Special Contribution towards MSME Ministry Census MissionThe responsibility for conduct of 4th All India Census of Micro, Small & Medium

Enterprises 2008 was entrusted to Time Institute by Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra. The Institute had successfully completed this herculean task in which 20611 industrial units spread over 5 districts of Western Maharashtra namely Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur and Pune were visited, data collected, compiled and submitted in time by using our own funds.

Mr. Sunil Ramachandra Dipak (Mobile No 9822307826) is from to a poor class family and hails from Undale village. He studied up to graduation. The financial condition of the family was not so good. He was unemployed and needed a job badly. As the us handicapped, he could not go to other places in search of job. One day saw an advertisement on free training in mobile repairing(05-01-2011 to 28-01-2011) bring organized by Time Industrial and Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Kolhapur. The programme was sponsored by through National Institute for MSME, Hyderabad, Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Wide publicity was given through newspapers/leaflets/personal contact.

After reading the advertisement, Mr. Sunil Ramachandra Dipak approached the coordinator of Time Institute. The information about the training Programme and the benefits that can be attained from it were fully Explained to Dipak. He was counseled by the Selection, committee and finally he was selected attend the training programme.

On successful completion of the training programme Dipak Was enrolled under Rajiv Gandhi Udyami Mitra Yojana. He was provided hand hold support and guidance for establishment of Industrial

unit/business.Mr. Sunil Ramachandra Dipak

decided to start this own Business and he invested Rs.300000/- from his own sources, took loan of Rs.1,70,000/- from Bank of Maharashtra, undale and started Ganesh Mobile & Electrical at Karad. His Business was sale and service of mobiles.

Initially, he faced some problem as he did not have enough experience. He also had difficulty in getting loan from

the bank, Once he gained experience, his business has picked up reasonably.

M r . S u n i l Ramachandra Dipak is desirous of expanding his business in mobile repairing for which he is preparing the documetns for bank loan and other formalities.

In spite of the problems faced in the process of setting up the business, with strong determination, Dipak has

been able to run the business smoothly and is now earning an income of Rs.1,50,000/- yearly. With this income he is now able to meet the financial needs of the family.

Dipak is thanklful to ni-msme and the Time Institute for training,help and guidance extended to him in setting up his business.

After reading the advertisement of Training Programme of NIMSME in Entrepreneurship Development, the candidate approached the coordinator of Time Institute. The information about the training programme and the benefits that can be accrued out of it was fully explained to the candidate and she was asked to submit her application on the prescribed format along with connected documents and photograph.

She was counseled by the Selection Committee and was\ found to be really needy and a potential entrepreneur. She was selected by the Selection Committee to undergo the training programme. She was put through the EDP held at Gadhinglaj from 04-01-2011 to 21-01-2011.

Initially, she faced the problem of Funds and Experience. But gradually she gained experience and the business has picked up reasonably. 12 persons have been employed in the industry.

Now she has applied for a loan of Rs 1 crore 20 lacs from the same bank to expand the industry. The loan is under process.

In spite of the problems faced in the process of setting the business, with the entrepreneurship qualities she has been able to run the business smoothly and is now earning an monthly income of Rs 25000/-. With this income she is now able to meet the financial needs of the family.

This business involves Sale & repair of mobile phones He got very good response as this era is known as age of Mobile. He invested Rs 80000/- from his own sources and is now earning an monthly income of Rs 10000/-. With this income he is now able to meet the financial needs of the family.
