Special rows are chosen to produce this amazing wine. The Pacific Ocean breeze blowing up along the river lends this special terroir an ample day-night temperature differential that gives rise to rich colour and soft, ripe tannins to produce this Unusual blend. Low yield vines (1.0 kg/plant) Drip irrigation, controlled deficit regime Careful viticultural management, searching for the proper tannin ripeness and avoiding any green flavours Carménère: Block 74B, selected rows Shiraz: Block 67, selected rows High temperatures during ripening time brought the harvest about one week earlier than usual and produced grapes with a great balance, ripe tannins and excellent health conditions. Unfiltered. Non cold stabilized. ALC % R.S. TOTAL ACIDITY PH 14,3 % 3,75 g/l 3,48 5,72 g/l (C 4 H 6 O 6 ) Deep red colour with blue tones. Both varieties lend a complex and elegant nose. Abundant berries, some tobacco and chocolate, well intermixed with spicy and some toasted notes. Full volume on the palate, with soft and well rounded tannins. Long, tasty and pleasant aftertaste. Blend Composition: 60% Carmenere – 40% Shiraz Blend Origin: Isla de Maipo. 5 to 7 day cold maceration Temperature controlled during fermentation (28°C) 4 pumpovers per day 25 day maceration on the skins Full malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels 16 months of aging in French oak barrels. First and second use.
