Caring for our Community A community service project

M’Jaie  Style  Life  would  like  to  thank  you  for  your  participation  in  the  “Caring  for  our

Community”  initiative  that  gives  back  to  the  senior  citizens  of  the  Fairfield

community.    You  and  your  students’  help  were  greatly  appreciated.    The  smile  of

gratitude  on  the  senior’s  faces  was  priceless!    The  2011  Caring  for  our  Community

was  the  first  of  many  community  initiatives  that  M’Jaie  Style  Life  will  partake  in  and

it  is  my  hope  that  we  can  share  in  other  future  community  service  projects.    Again

thank  you  very  much,  your  time  and  commitment  was  greatly  appreciated.

About  the  Company

M’Jaie Style Life  was  established  by  a  fashion  forward  young  lady  with  an  eye  for

great  style,  knowledge  of  fashionable  concepts  and  enriching  wardrobe  advice.

Fashion  consultant  and  owner  Melinda  Jones  sparked  the  idea  of  a  fashion

consulting  firm  after  spending  3  months  in  Tokyo,  Japan,  where  she  experienced  the

electrifying  culture  rich  Japanese  lifestyle.    Since  Tokyo  is  a  mecca  for  fashion,

Melinda  got  a  chance  to  visit  several  notable  fashion  houses  that  featured  the  latest

designs  and  vivid  images,  in  addition  to  observing  upcoming  fashion,  beauty  and

styling  concepts,  she  was  able  to  view  technology  on  a  grand  scale.    Melinda  noticed

that  the  fashion  and  marketing  techniques  in  Japan  were  very  unique  which  began

an  interest  into  wanting  to  find  out  more  about  it.    Through  this  enriching

experience  the  fashion  consulting  services  of  M’Jaie  Style  Life  was  launched  in  2005.

After  years  of  working  as  a  fashion  consultant  and  blogging  about  fashion  trends,

and  style  tips  on  social  networks,  Melinda  decided  to  expand  M’Jaie  Style  Life  to

include  social  media  and  marketing  services.    Ms.  Jones  has  since  been  responsible

for  communicating  brand  and  product  messages  across  print  and  electronic  media,

creating  marketing  materials  as  well  as  the  success  of  numerous  market  shows,

fashion  events  and  accountable  for  the  stylish  look  of  several  individuals.

Always  taking  great  pride  in  what  she  does,  Melinda  established  M’Jaie  Style  Life  to

provide  creative  concepts,  customized  consulting  service,  personal  attention  and

client  satisfaction.  With  a  need  to  give  back  to  the  community,  the  Caring  for  our

Community  initiative  was  created  in  2011.

Caring  for  our  Community

The  Caring  for  our  Community  is  a  community  service  project  that  began  in  2011  to

benefit  and  assist  individuals  of  the  local  community  with  essential  items.    The

community  initiative  benefits  the  senior  citizens  of  the  community  by  providing

them  with  toiletry  items  that  were  received  on  a  donation  basis.

The  goal  of  the  initiative  is  to  give  the  elderly  toiletry  items  that  can  be  used  for

their  daily  use.    A  visit  to  the  Fairfield  Nursing  and  Rehabilitation  Center  to  speak

with  the  activities  coordinator  informed  M’Jaie  Style  Life  of  some  of  the  toiletry

items  needed  by  the  residents.    Once  the  meeting  concluded,  a  visit  to  four  Fairfield

schools  –  C  J  Donald  Elementary,  Glen  Oaks  Elementary,  Forest  Hill  Middle  and

Robinson  Elementary  –  lead  to  good  news.    The  principals  at  each  school  agreed  to

be  involved  in  the  toiletry  drive.    While  in  discussion  with  one  of  the  principals

about  the  goal  of  the  community  initiative  and  the  goal  to  donate  the  items  to  the

residents  of  the  nursing  center,  she  mentioned  how  the  residents  of  W.  Clyde

Williams  Terrace  apartments  would  also  benefit  from  the  toiletry  drive.  With  all  the

support  of  the  four  schools,  there  was  an  abundance  of  toiletry  items  that  indeed

benefited  both  the  nursing  center  and  the  residents  at  the  apartment  complex.

The  Journey

Boxes  were  placed  at  each  school  so  the

students  can  donate  toiletry  items

The  boxed  toiletry  items  were  picked  up  from  each  school  then  separated  in  order  to

prepare  the  individual  gifts.

The  Caring  for  our  Community  project  was  a  huge  success!    An  abundance  of  toiletry

items  were  received.

The  suggested  toiletry  item

donations  included:

deodorant,  toothpaste,

toothbrush,  shampoo,

conditioner,  kleenex,  soap,

lotion,  body  wash,  denture

cream,  socks,  combs,  brush

and  handkerchief.

However,  individuals  were  generous

enough  to  also  donate:  tissue,  mouthwash,

hand  sanitizer,  hand  soap,  cotton  balls,

epsom  salt  &  peroxide.

All  of  the  items  were  given  out  at  W.  Clyde  Williams  Terrace  apartments  and

Fairfield  Nursing  &  Rehabilitation  Center.

The  M’Jaie  Style

Life  service

coordinators

wrapped  a

mixture  of  items

together  to  be

given  to  each

senior  citizen.

DELIVERY  DAY  1

The  items  were  given  to  the  residents  of  the  W.  Clyde  Williams  Terrace  apartments

on  December  22,  2011.    The  residents  were  happy  to  receive  the  items.    Below  are

pictures  of  the  residents  as  they  gather  in  the  meeting  hall.
