Our staff are treas-
ured and loved by
the Residents of
Canwick House, this
really was a tough
one … but, we asked
Residents to think
carefully about one
member of the team
who really stood out.
Although all staff
were mentioned,
one staff name kept
coming up, time and
time again.
you have shown,
Resilience in moments of
need, commitment and
dedication through your
years with us, good-will
and compassion in diffi-
cult times and your pro-
fessionalism is always
conducted in everything
you do.
With this is mind— you are
us, for always trying, al-
ways learning, always
being there. You are never
phased.
We thank you once again
for setting a standard
which we can all learn
from.

CARER OF THE YEAR 2020
Celebrating V.E Day here at Canwick House.
It‟s such a meaningful day for us all, remember-
ing loved ones, the efforts of those who served
during the War, those who paved the way for our
future. We will always remember and pay hom-
age to these heroes .
We heard stories from our Residents of their War experience, songs by the
piano and chocolate cake (Stuart‟s choice!)
We celebrated a very special birthday, and enjoyed
time in the garden.
We would like to thank all the super staff at Canwick
House Care Home, committed to caring, every day.
Our modern day heroes!
Both the Residents and the Staff loved being treated to an
afternoon of TV and a PAPA JOHNS takeaway. A delicious
way to end the week, relax and
unwind with a tasty treat!
Thank you Staff for the
special treat!
Gifted from Lincoln
County Council, the Facebook Portal com-
puter device means we can make clear,
video calls to friends and
family.
It is a great way to safely
communicate with friends and family during this current
crisis.

To help our on-going fight against the coronavirus pandemic, we wel-
comed Premier Support Services Ltd. After receiving a grant from Councillor Lindsey
Cawrey from the Covid-19 Community Fund, we were able to arrange sanitisation ser-
vices to enter our Home, as precautionary measure to rid any virus or
bacteria, keeping our loved ones safe.
We called them Ghostbusters, but really they are Heros. Their service
was personalised and professional . www.premiersupportservices.co.uk/
HEAR FROM …
Valerie. ‘Val’ originally from South-ampton lived a very busy life. Living in Lon-don for over 30 years support-ing her husband who worked in the Metropolitan Police and raising their fami-ly of 6 children. The family continues to grow, with 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. We all look forward to meeting the new-borns and watching them grow.
Bill. Bill has lived in Canwick for many years, having built his own house to raise his family with his lovely wife, Pat. Bill contributed to the develop-ment of the village which we now enjoy as a community to this day. Bill enjoys his gardens and time outside, with fond memories of his cricket days and captaining his side.
Freddie.
Freddie has been a part of Canwick’s family for three and a half years. Spending most of her life in the Lincoln she has many special friends and family who enjoy keeping in con-tact.
You’ll find Freddie doing her daily exercises or joining in the quizzes and games we play. Freddie makes sure everyone is well and is a friend to all.

2 M E T E R G A R D E N PA R T Y COVID-19 Lockdown means strict re-
strictions were made preventing our Resi-
dents seeing their loved ones.
As Government has started to allow for
some ease within these restrictions, we
made the brave decision to hold a socially
distanced gathering, enabling Residents
and family to see one another. Face to face
contact is very important to our Residents,
and having gone 13 weeks without seeing
their friends/family, it was time to safely
arrange a party! We the staff missed you
too!
The smiles on our Residents faces bright-
ened up the cloudy day. The event was an
absolute success! A great turn out from all
the families who conformed to the social
distancing rules and used the provided
P.P.E.
This was all rounded off with home-made
jam scones, cakes and hot drinks provided
by our wonderful staff here at
Canwick House.
CAR E R O F TH E Y E A R 2020
“Caring for our
seniors is perhaps
the greatest
responsibility we
have.
Those who have
walked before us
have given so
much and made
possible the life we
have today.”
Gemma Martin
(Assistant Manager)
Gemma joined the Canwick family in
August 2019. Since she stepped foot
inside Canwick, she instantly fell in
love with the Home, the ethos, the life.
Gemma comes to us with a wealth of
experience in the care industry and
has a background of senior roles. Her
experience and knowledge proves her
an asset to the team here at Canwick
and we all welcome her with open
arms and want to thank her for the
extra care she puts into everything she
does.

Catherine explains, “Gemma is a very
special addition to the team. Although
small in size, Gemma is strong in her
sense of values and morals which she
spreads through the Home. We didn't
quite imagine her role would involve
DIY, plumbing & furniture removal—but
Gemma takes it all in her stride and
with support of her loving partner, gets
it done, with a smile and a sense of
pride.
“On behalf of the
whole team, I‟d
like to thank you
Gemma

Catherine Paul
During summer lockdown, we celebrated a very special
day, a gender reveal party for Catherine‟s baby, (due
July 2020). Both Manager and someone who is very
close to all the Staff and Residents, Catherine has
committed to coming in daily, to support all the staff
and continue to make the fantastic improvements with-
in the Home. We would all like to wish Catherine a
healthy pregnancy and we are looking forward to meet
and greet our newest member of the Canwick House
family.
P.s … it’s a Girl
Love and Blessings to Catherine and family
We thank you for your con-
tinued support in all that we
do at the Home.
We so appreciate the compli-
ments you give us, and how
special you make us feel as
key people essential to the
wellbeing of our Residents at
Canwick House, especially
through this year where
there has been so much
turmoil and sad news.
As we come together at
different points throughout
the year, please know we
are always here for you at
Canwick House.
