2004 CEA MeetingsThe 2003 CEA Meetings had over 750 registrants which is a

record. Thanks to Curtis Eaton and Frances Woolley for organizing a fine conference.

Harry Johnson PrizeEach year the Harry Johnson Prize is awarded to the authors

of the best article in the CJE. The winners in 2002 are:

Robin Boadway, Nick Marceau and Steeve Mongrain for their article, “Joint Tax Evasion” in the August issue of the journal.

John Vanderkamp PrizeCanadian Public Policy/Analyse de Politiques is pleased to

announce that the winner of the John Vanderkamp Prize for the best paper published in the journal in 2002 is:

Susan Johnson for the paper entitled “Canadian Union Density 1980 to 1998 and Prospects for the Future: An Empirical Investigation.”

The recipient receives $1,000. The winner was selected by a multidisciplinary panel. We would also like to mention the following paper for honourable mention:

Pierre Lefebvre and Philip Merrigan for the paper entitled “The Effect of Childcare and Early Education Arrangements on Developmental Outcomes of Young Children.”
