Camshaft Bridge Non-Return Valve Caution on 2008-2017 Audi/Volkswagen 2.0L Engines The AERA Technical Committee offers the following information on the non-return valve used in 2008- 2017 Audi/Volkswagen 2.0L engines. This valve is a one-way valve and may be referred to as an anti- drain back valve. It has been reported that when removing the camshaft bridge as part of a repair, that a damaged screen of the non-return valve may be detected as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1. Damaged Screen The complaint/repair is unrelated to the damaged screen and the non-return valve is not damaged ball is in valve seat. It has been determined by Audi/Volkswagen that the absence of the screen will not affect the operation of the valve. Therefore, replacement is unnecessary, saving additional labor and parts cost. If encountered, the remaining pieces of the screen should be carefully removed with a small needle nose pliers.

Camshaft Bridge Non-Return Valve Caution on 2008-2017 Audi/Volkswagen 2.0L Engines

The AERA Technical Committee offers the following information on the non-return valve used in 2008-2017 Audi/Volkswagen 2.0L engines. This valve is a one-way valve and may be referred to as an anti-drain back valve. It has been reported that when removing the camshaft bridge as part of a repair, that a damaged screen of the non-return valve may be detected as shown in Figure 1.
