SMART Goal

•100% of the campus will develop a mission statement and documented goals aligned to student achievement, and staff will communicate these goals by the end of October 29th.

Campus Leadership Team Mission Statement:•We, the Campus Leadership Team of

Sunset Ridge, will use effective leadership skills to guide the creation of a focused work place with common core values and goals that will ultimately effect student achievement.

Committees ~ do you know which one you’re on???•Reading•Writing•Math•Science•Character Education• Intervention•Parent Involvement•Technology•Staff Development•Special Areas

Expectations for Committees

•Committees will meet during regularly scheduled staff meeting times. No extra meetings on your calendar!

•9/2, 9/16, 10/14, 11/18, 12/2•12/16 ~ Staff Holiday Breakfast!

•Sign-in sheets will be required at committee meetings.

•Mission statements will be posted on a school-wide tree map.

Are you on the RIGHT committee?

•Please make sure you are on ONE and only one committee, and that the committee is the most appropriate for your expertise.

Role of Committee Facilitators

•The facilitators ensure that the process happens with the teams. The facilitators are not the bosses of the committees.

•Everyone has a voice, and everyone contributes equally to the results.

Timeline• 9/2: staff meeting to discuss committees, goals, and

facilitator roles

• 9/16: committee will develop mission statements

• 9/28: Finish mission statement and begin the Action Plan (accordion-style paper)

• October 29: Early Release & staff development with Marilyn Wescott.

• October 29th: Action Plan due!

• November 19th: Plus/Delta chart on process to complete mission and plan (Early Release Day)

PDSA ~ Plan• Each committee will write a mission statement on

September 16th.

• Each committee will create a personal action plan (the 8-way accordion sheet) by October 29th for Marilyn Wescott’s visit.

PDSA ~ Do:• The committee will facilitate the goal teams.• The goal teams will meet and complete the action plan

process.

PDSA ~ Act

•Will be based on the plus/delta from the results. This will provide feedback to the committee and the Campus Leadership Team on the process of the first PDSA.

Group Norms

•Confidentiality is expected from all participants.

•One person speaks at a time ~ refrain from sidebar conversations.

•Explain and follow agenda, honor time limitations and work to achieve meeting goals.

•Focus on solutions.•Stay positive, celebrate successes, we are

all here for the students.

Code of Conduct

•Be respectful of others, elicit and consider the viewpoints and roles of all team members.

•We will engage in productive and courteous communication

•We are one voice. It is okay to disagree during a meeting but once the group has made a decision, it needs to be supported by everyone outside of the meeting.

Continued Expectation

•Grade levels will meet weekly to discuss implementation of campus goals and strategies at their grade level. (except for data meeting weeks)

Issue Bin

• Include more diversity on the committee: classified staff member, David, Tamara, special ed. rep, Vicki

• Staff meetings: use for Committee work• Where will we publish all the data for everyone to see, yet

have it be confidential?• Communication throughout staff on what is going on in all

departments, grade levels, office, etc.
