Mental Health, Obesity, Cancer and Diabetes. Ash sits in the Campaspe PCP Office at 14 Village Drive

Prevention/Health Promotion

Healthy Choices at REDHS Cafe

We would like to extend our congratulations to Rochester and Elmore District Health Service for achieving a

30% increase in Green sales and a reduction of 35% of Red sales. REDHS are leading the way in the Healthier

Campaspe initiative to implement the Healthy Choice guidelines with great results, click here to view an

infographic of their recent changes achievements.

Mental Health First Aid Courses

Two mental health first aid courses were funded by the Victorian Government & Mental Health First Aid

Australia to support the dairy industry and were delivered April/early May. A three day course was held in

Gunbower with 12 participants and a two day course was held in Echuca with 17 participants. The feedback

was excellent.

Gender Equity Training

Women's Health Loddon Mallee recently facilitated two Gender Equity Workshops for health and community

service organisations in Campaspe. More training will be made available over coming months. For more

information please contact Tracie Pearson on 5484 4304.

LGBTIQ Resource

Campaspe is home to many people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,

intersex and queer (LGBTIQ). While LGBTIQ encompasses diverse communities and

individuals, LGBTIQ people share generally poorer health and wellbeing outcomes than

the heterosexual and cisgendered community. We have recently developed this list to

assist people to access resources and information.

Respectful Language Resource

Acknowledging and respecting social and cultural diversity requires using language that is inclusive of social

and cultural diversity and avoiding language that discriminates, excludes or harasses individuals and groups of

people. Inclusive language is language that does not stereotype or demean people based on personal

characteristics including gender, race, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation etc. This fact sheet identifies

specific respectful and inclusive terminology in relation to these characteristics. It aims to assist organisations to

acknowledge all members of society on an equal basis through modes of communication, particularly

language. It suggests ways of avoiding unnecessary and unintended offence providing appropriate examples of

inclusive language.

at engage.vic.gov.au

The CIS Scheme Ministerial Guidelines were available from the week of 28 May 2018 at

Service Integration

National Health Services Directory (NHSD) - Are Your Details Up-To-Date?

The NHSD allows people to search for services across Australia by postcode, keywords and service type. This

could be an issue if your organisation's details are not listed or out-of-date.

Evaluation of the NDIS: Consolidated report

In May 2013, the Department of Social Services commissioned a consortium led by the National Institute of

Labour Studies at Flinders University to conduct an evaluation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme trial

sites. The evaluation of the NDIS Consolidated Report contains findings based on all data collections

undertaken over the course of the evaluation, including surveys and interviews with NDIS participants, their

families and carers, disability support providers and other stakeholders. The VHA has developed a briefing that

looks at a number of the themes and draws out key findings relating to concerns and challenges raised by

public sector providers of disability supports in Victoria. Access the briefing here

Volunteer Co-ordinators Network, the volunteers participated in walks around the Aquatic

Reserve, Line Dancing, Tai Chi, a morning tea and a complementary paddlesteamer ride. Given
