California is the most populous state in the US and the third-largest by land area, California is also the most populous sub-national entity in North America. It is located on the U.S. West Coast, bordered by the Pacific Ocean largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, the south. Its 5 San Jose, San Francisco, and Long Beach, with Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Jose each having at least 1 million residents.[5] Like many populous states, California's capital, Sacramento is smaller than the state's largest city, Los Angeles.[6] The state is home to the nation's 2nd- and 6th-largest census statistical areas and 8 of the nation's
Often known by its initials, L.A., and nicknamed the City of Angels, Los Angeles is a world center of business, international trade, entertainment, culture, media, fashion, science, technology, and education
The Los Angeles area is rich in native plant species due in part to a diversity in habitats, including beaches, wetlands, and mountains. The most prevalent botanical environment is coastal sage scrub, which covers the hillsides in combustible chaparral. Native plants include: California poppy, matilija poppy, toyon, Coast Live Oak, and Giant Wildrye. Los Angeles is often billed as the "Creative Capital of the World", due to the fact that one in every six of its residents works in a creative industry.[63] According to the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation, "there are more artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers and musicians living and working in Los Angeles than any other city at any time in the history of civilization."[64] There is always something fun to do at the Pier- from playing games, riding the coaster to taking in the breathtaking views of the Southern California beach line. We also have some fun activities great for the whole family. Take a look below and see what exciting things we have going on.
There are nearly 200 Hollywood celebrity handprints, footprints, and autographs in the concrete of the theater's forecourt.
Opened in 1909, the Santa Monica Pier today is a much-loved landmark that
attracts over four million visitors a year. The Pier shops are a great place to
pick up souvenirs, postcards and novelties. Oceanside dining is also a treat at
restaurants such as Surf View Café and Mariasol Cocina Mexicana.
Attractions at the Pier include the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, Playland
Arcade and historic Carousel.
Perhaps the most popular attraction is Pacific Park, LA's only admission-free
amusement park and home to the only oceanfront steel roller coaster on the
West Coast. The park also features adult rides such as the Pacific Plunge and
Sea Dragon, while children enjoy the Crazy Submarine and Frog Hopper.

Likely the one of the most popular rides, if not the most recognizable, is the
new Pacific Wheel. The world's only solar-powered Ferris wheel, the Pacific

wheel lights up to 160,000 LED lights.
Santa Monica Pier is the perfect place for a fun, memorable event in a
spectacular setting. Both the Pier Deck and Carousel are available for events.
Pacific Park has several spaces for private events, including its Seaside
Cabana for up to 300 people. Several of the Pier's restaurants can also host
private parties.
The Santa Monica Pier itself is open 24 hours a day. Admission is free.
Schedules and prices of other attractions vary. During the summer season
from late May to August, Pacific Park is open Sunday through Thursday from
11 AM to 11 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 to 12:30 AM. From mid-
