Did you know that Ghana in West Africa has 87 different languages spoken in that country? 22 of those languages have a complete Bible but 27 other languages have no scripture at all. Kenya, in East Africa has 72 languages spoken in that country and 24 of those languages have a complete Bible. However, 29 languages have no scripture in their language. Our church supports financially and with our prayers, two Wycliffe Bible translators. Ervin and Colleen Starwalt train consultants who work in indigenous languages to produce scripture and Jon and Carol Shaneyfelt help develop alternative power systems which translators and literacy workers need in order to do their work. Let’s remember these workers and the people groups around the world who still do not have one verse of scripture in their language.

Strong connections are what the Church is all about. And with all that’s happening in our world, staying connected is more important than ever.

That’s why, for many years, we’ve said our goal at First Protestant Church has been “connecting people with God and each other through Jesus Christ!”

The benefits of these genuine relationship connections are many:

Growth in faith – the Bible reminds us that our faith is sharpened when we follow Jesus together (Proverbs 27:17)

Fellowship – when we’re united with Christ, we’re also joined to each other in friendship and fellowship – that’s always been true of God’s people (Acts 2:42)

Care – as our relationships grow, we are naturally prompted to care for each other, pray for each other and walk through life’s challenges together (Galatians 6:2)

Mission – Jesus left all of His disciples with a focused mission objec-tive, and we pursue that together (Matthew 18:19-20)

First Protestant has several currently active groups, and more are on the way! Group meeting time, location and focus are varied – it’s our aim to have a connection group that fits everyone!

Even if we can’t have have a Blood Drive at FPC, you can still help by making an appointment at the local or area blood bank to make your donation and ask them to please give FPC credit for same. This is a greatly needed commodity that we all possess, and our bodies will replenish. A gift that keeps on giving.
