Where the Axolotl is foundThe Axolotl is a Mexican salamander, usually found in a lake complex of Xochimilco (so-chee-mill- koh) near Mexico city.

Fun FactsThe Axolotl is pronounced ax-oh-lot-tl and are part of the mole-salamanders family.The Axolotl does develop lungs however the most interesting feature of the Axolotl is their branch-like gills and they can reproduce missing limbs. Most salamanders stay under water their entire life, Axolotls in rare cases once they reach maturity they can emerge and live outside of the water for short periods of time. Also sometimes the Axolotl looks like it can boogie.
