Democrats believe the federal government should have strong, positive role in

addressing major challenges.

They are liberal in this world because they feel the need to build and safeguard a fair,

free and open society.Example: They feel that the Death Penalty

should be in use but only for heinous crimes.

They also feel that Gun Control builds and safeguard a fair, free and open society but

with limits.

POLITICAL WORLD

They favor higher minimum wage and more regular increases.•Fiscal policy: They support more progressive tax structure•Health care reform: “affordable and quality health care

•Renewable energy and oil: opposed tax cuts and incentives to oil companies, favoring policy of developing domestic

renewable energy•College education: low-cost publicly funded college education

with low tuition fees

They are liberal because they want change for America.

ECONOMIC WORLD

–They favor a better education for everyone.

–They feel that everyone has the right to an equal education, no matter who they are or where they are from.

–They feel that the government should fund more money to our education in order to have the best education possible and reduce class sizes\

–They’re pushing for immigrations reforms

Example: Education , Barack Obama just recently passed the Dream Act and signed a student loan reform

•They are liberal on the cultural world•They believe that cultural freedom is for the best of our society

EX) Religion- Most democrats believe that it is the right of the people to determine their religious beliefs
