By his Son, God created the world in

the beginning…He holds everything

together by what he says..

Hebrews 1: 2-3

Page 2: By his son, God created the world

So the Bible says, it’s God who

1. created the world &

2. holds everything together

Page 3: By his son, God created the world

Did God create the world or

did it create itself?

Creation or evolution?

Design or time & chance?

Page 4: By his son, God created the world

What you believe about where we came from

affects your ideas about

1. meaning of life,

2. how you live it and

3. where you are headed

What is Naturalism?

Naturalism says that we are just a complex collection of neurons and all that exists in the universe is physical, material matter. There is no soul; Experiences like pain, pleasure, beauty, and a sense of self do not really exist. They are merely physiological reactions.

Is Naturalism true?

How come everyone’s DNA is unique?

Page 8: By his son, God created the world

The God of the Bible is also the God of the genome….His creation is majestic,

awesome, intricate and beautiful.

Dr. Collins is a physician-geneticist noted for his landmark discoveries of disease genes and his

leadership of the international Human Genome Project, which culminated in April 2003 with the

completion of a finished sequence of the human DNA instruction book. He served as director of the

National Human Genome Research Institute at the NIH from 1993-2008

As an atheist evolving to agnosticism, and seeking answers to

whether or not belief in God is potentially rational, my life was

turned upside down 35 years ago by reading C. S. Lewis's

Mere Christianity.

What is Darwinism?

Darwinism proposes that individual organisms who best suited to an environment survive and reproduce most successfully, and after numerous such breeding cycles, the better-adapted dominate and the poorly suited individuals die off.

How do Emperor Penguins go two

and a half months without eating

or drinking?

Page 11: By his son, God created the world

How come dragon fly didn’t

evolve into a butterfly?

Remember Hitler’s Aryan

superiority theory?

What is deep-time-dating?

Deep-time-dating postulates that the earth is 4.5 billion years old based on the layers of earth’s sedimentary rock (e.g. Arizona’s Grand Canyon)

Arizona’s Grand Canyon

Page 16: By his son, God created the world

Not really. A violent mudflow from a Mount St. Helens eruption deposited fine layers in less than a day1. And water flume studies recreate the fast-flow rates that deposit particles, creating layers in moments2.

Did beautiful layers like these require

deep time to form?

What is secularism?

Secularism teaches that there are no absolute truths defining right and wrong. It can be defined as “a system of doctrines and practices that disregards or rejects any form of religious faith and worship. Essentially, secularism says that man does not need God.

They remove the Bible from classrooms only

to introduce it back – this time in the

prisons

Thanks to secularism

Did God create the world or

did it create itself?

Creation or evolution?

Design or time & chance?

Page 20: By his son, God created the world

1. Where did we come from?

2. Why are we here?

3. Where are we going

questions that can lead to the answer

Page 21: By his son, God created the world

What is the purpose of the following

objects?

We know all this, don’t we?

Page 22: By his son, God created the world

1. What is the purpose of you & me?

2. Why are we here?

3. Where did we come from?

4. Where are we going

But we don’t know…

Page 23: By his son, God created the world

Secondly, We agree that some of

the following has a creator

We debate about the creator of some, how come?

Page 24: By his son, God created the world

That is why, the One enthroned in

heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at

the nations

Psalm 2:4

Page 25: By his son, God created the world

Secondly…..

Page 26: By his son, God created the world

The God who created the

world also sustains it

Do you know the

Fine Tuning Parameters for the Universe?

Page 27: By his son, God created the world

1. if larger: stars would be

too hot and would burn

too rapidly and too

unevenly for life

chemistry

2. if smaller: stars would

be too cool to ignite

nuclear fusion; thus,

many of the elements

needed for life chemistry

would never form

gravitational force constant

Page 28: By his son, God created the world

1. if faster: stars would be too luminous for

life support

2. if slower: stars would be insufficiently

luminous for life support

velocity of light

Page 29: By his son, God created the world

1. if larger: star formation late

enough in the history of the

universe would be

hampered by lack of

material

2. if smaller: gravitational tug-

of-wars would destabilize

the sun's orbit

average distance between galaxies

You remember the questions God asks?

Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?Tell me, if you understand.Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!Who stretched a measuring line across it?On what were its footings set,or who laid its cornerstone—

Page 31: By his son, God created the world

You remember the questions God asks?

Who shut up the sea behind doorswhen it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment

and wrapped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it

and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, ‘This far you may

come and no farther;here is where your proud waves

halt’?

Page 32: By his son, God created the world

You remember the questions God asks?

Do you know when the mountain goats give birth?Do you watch when the doe bears her fawn?

Do you count the months till they bear?Do you know the time they give birth?
