Do Now 1. Take a Do Now 2. Take a clicker. 3. 5 minutes to complete Do Now - then we are

rapidly doing a clicker review of it!

Quiz – make corrections! Ask for clarification! When done, work on POGIL… check in and/or borrow key

No, you cannot conclude that no forces are acting on the moving object… you can only conclude that any forces acting on it cancel for a net force of zero. If it is moving and has no acceleration, this means the velocity is constant – which, according to either the 1st or 2nd laws, means the net force is zero.

HW– make corrections! Ask for clarification! 1. Yes – a force is exerted on the nail. An equal force is on

the hammer. There is a PAIR (2) forces.2. Equal3. You push back on floor, floor pushed forward on you…this

is why it’s easier to walk on a surface with more friction (ex – sidewalk vs ice)

4. Water pushes you forward5. Arrow pushing on bowstring6. The Earth’s mass is MUCH larger than yours7. Cannon Cannon ball [same force, but cannon has much less acceleration]

ma = F = ma

8. Rocket pushes gas back, gas pushes rocket forward
