Paul Troisi of Troy Security Systems gives a sobering presentation on the new Data Privacy Law which came

into effect March 1st this year. This law impacts businesses of all sizes if they maintain personal

information. Paul spoke at the Business After Hours on April 22nd, hosted by Eastern Bank of Malden.

A Message from Linda Kane, Second Vice President, Malden Chamber This past January, I was elected to the Malden Chamber’s Executive Board as Second Vice President. I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. It is truly an honor to be in the company of this dedicated group led by our President, Diane Farraher-Smith. For those who don't know me, my experience with the Malden Chamber goes back a number of years. I first joined the Chamber in 2004. As Stoneham Savings Bank’s Malden Branch Manager and Chamber member, I learned a lot about Malden through my interactions with local business owners. It has been a great venue for my personal and professional growth. Over the years, I have made hundreds of business contacts and many friends through Chamber events. In late 2004, my involvement in the Chamber grew, as I was elected to the Board of Directors. One of the most rewarding aspects of Board membership has been working with other Board members on various committees. Last year, I was Chair of the Awards Dinner Committee and Membership Committee. This year, I chair the Membership and Strategic Planning Committees. As Second Vice President, I will focus on efforts to strengthen the Chamber and its ties to the business community. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for the privilege to serve this great organization.

Discount for Annual Business After Hours Pass

Since the year is almost half over, we are offering a significant discount for the Annual Pass. As of May 1st, you can now get a 2010 Business After Hours Pass for only $25, discounted from $45. This pass entitles you to unlimited entry to all Business After Hours events sponsored by the Malden Chamber as well as Business Card Exchanges co-sponsored with other area Chambers in calendar year 2010. The pass is good through the rest of 2010. We have lots more Business After Hours in the works, so this Pass is still worth 2-3 times what you are paying for it.
