The Business Concept

Iced & Sliced is a local desert shop, which has chosen to sell cakes and all sorts of desserts that are made for all occasions

including weddings and birthdays. As well as a variety of delicious beverages that includes coffees, teas and a range of

other drinks. The following slides will show three of the main desert products

Iced & Sliced plan to sell:

Oreo CheesecakeA truly satisfying and rich cheesecake, that takes you back to your childhood where cookies enlightened your days and brought joy to your tastebuds. The dish is a delicious and unique mixture of ingredients that taste extra fantastic with a coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

The company choose to sell this product as we believed it was unique and therefore would be very appetising for customers of all ages.

The Business Concept

Toblerone Cheesecake

This is another one of our creamy cheesecakes, which gives a whole new

meaning to the word ‘chocolate’. We assure you that this dish will even make chocolate

haters, chocolate lovers.

Iced & Sliced chose to produce this dish as we felt that like the Oreo Cheesecake, it

would appeal to customers as it is an original and different cake.

ChocolateRipple Cake

This dish is one of our classic and traditional cakes. It’s simple yet truly satisfying. The

creamy and delicate outer layer is exquisite with the soft chocolate centre and is a

fantastic snack for the evening.

The company decided to manufacture this dish as we wanted to sell a dessert designed

for the simple and classic cake lovers.

The Business Concept

Iced & Sliced has also chosen to sell a variety of drinks as we believe that the only way to truly experience a fantastic desert is to complete that dish

with a fantastic beverage. Therefore we have selected the following amazing fluids to truly satisfy our customers tastebuds:

Coffees:- Cappuccinos- Long Black- Short Blacks- Mocha- Latte- Iced Coffee

Energy drinks: - Red Bull- V- Mother- Monster

Soft Drinks:- Fanta- Coke/ Pepsi- Sprite- Solo- Raspberry Fanta

Chocolate drinks:- Hot chocolate- Chocolate milkshakes (as well as strawberry, mango and banana milkshakes)- Iced Chocolate

The Business Concept

PACKAGING:Iced and Sliced will have large cake boxes to hold the cakes ordered by our customers. We believe that this form of packaging will be the best way to keep our cakes fresh and safe for our customers. We also feel that boxes

will be an easy and affordable form of packaging. As well as this, we plan to package take away orders for customers in small

paper bags that are easy to carry and keep our dessert fresh. Each of these forms of packaging will also be 100% recyclable, as Iced and

Sliced feel strongly about caring for the environment too.

SWOT Analysis

STRENGTH:- The location of our shop is in the City of

Melbourne, Victoria in St Kilda. It is positioned in a very busy area, which means our company will have a larger amount of business.

- We would receive an excellent amount of money for the deserts that our company will create because of the location.

- We have quick and easy access to people who live around the area.

- There is a seating area for the customers to sit around and eat selections of deserts from our menu.

- Iced & Sliced is the first dessert shop on the street from the beach area and Luna Park so therefore we would be the first place where hungry dessert lovers could go.

- We sell a variety of freshdesserts for a selection of occasions and are also a cafe. Therefore we will have a mixture of customers eager to have a dessert for events.

WEAKNESS:- The business’ location is hard to travel to for us

employees. - A lot of money is needed to start the business off

because of the location.- A profit would be hard to earn due to the costs of

bills and ingredients.- Customers will need to pay for parking to come

and enjoy our desserts.

SWOT AnalysisOPPORTUNITIES:

- Iced & Sliced will have the opportunity to expand and create franchises.

- To create many different deserts and decorate them to the customers description.

THREATS:- There are a great variety of different cafes and

other cake shops within the area that have been around for a greater amount of time than Iced & Sliced will be. So our company will need to advertise a lot to make allow our company to be known.

Mission Statement

Iced & Sliced, aims to retail a wide range of high quality deserts at reasonable prices. We have dedicated staff that make delicious and

yummy deserts, whose work will satisfy every customer that walks into our store and allow them to leave with all their taste buds tingling.

Quality is our policy.

OUR GUARNTEE:We guarantee to create a great variety of deserts and drinks to make our customers happy and satisfied allowing them to remember Iced & Sliced

as a great place to eat for any age group, or any gender.

Target Market

Iced & Sliced is a dessert shop designed for any occasion, ranging from

birthday parties to catering for weddings. We welcome every kind of

customer to dine at our company, customers that enjoy sitting down for

business meetings, get togethers, relaxing or those who just enjoy trying

something new. Our company would mostly be suitable for customers who

are around the age of 20 years and older, as we believe that they would be

the most appropriate age group interested in the products we sell. However,

our products are also suitable for customers who are younger in age too.

Although, due to the location of our company and the huge rates, the prices

of our desserts are set at a high amount, yet are truly worth the spending. As

a result of this, customers with a large yearly income would also be most

suitable to dine at our cafe/shop. Though, we assure that all our customers

will be welcomed into our little but classic cake shop/cafe. We truly believe

that all of our clients will be very glad to come into a new environment where

they are able to enjoy themselves with a slice of our delicious range of deserts

to yummy coffees and teas.

LOCATION

Iced and Sliced will be located at 81 Acland Street, St Kilda, VIC 3182. We chose this location as we believe that St Kilda is the

perfect scene for a small dessert shop. Acland Street is filled with small cafes, ice cream stores, and restaurants making it a

truly fantastic location for our business. There are tourist sites such as Luna Park and

St Kilda Beach that are close by to our business. These sites will bring a fantastic

amount of customers into our store and because the location of our business is the

first dessert shop from these sites, customers would most likely stop to eat at

our cafe.

The Australian Business Grants

Iced & Sliced’s financial consultant, Emily Saunders, spoke to an employee from The

Australian Business Grants, who advised her that there are currently 450 grants. With this

particular institution they offer grants, no interest loans or only charge an interest rate on minimal loans. The interest rate charged on those minimal loans start at 3-5% but go

for a long period of time. The Australian Business Grants decide on what type of grant
