Paul is the Director of Product Analytics at Netflix. He is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of Data Engineers and Data Scientists who support the Netflix Product Management organization in making product innovation decisions. Services provided include managing Netflix’s vast analytics warehouse, providing dashboards & reports, and providing a range of analytical support services. Paul received his B.S. in Systems & Control Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.

How Aon Hewitt Reduced Millions of Dollars of Cost Through Analytics & Optimization

Aon Hewitt serves hundreds of clients and helps over 20 million of their employees and retirees choose the right healthcare, manage their claims, invest in 401K plans and manage their pay each year requiring thousands of customer service agents to solve specific, complex, participant issues. Due to the nature of Annual Enrollment alone, Aon Hewitt had to hire thousands of additional, seasonal colleagues in Q4 each year all resulting in high operational costs. The Business Strategy Analytics team identified seasonality in behaviors, drivers for calls, skill set requirements and developed forecasting methods for the workload. The team then modeled complex algorithms to identify the most cost optimal strategies for team structures, agents’ licensing and skills, and partnered with clients to control call patterns. The overall result is an annual savings of over $15 million with an additional $3 million to $5 million each year during the enrollment season.
