    2018

  • IntroductionThe BackgroundFrom our humble beginning in 1918, we have built on the courage, dedication and faith of all those who have come before us, thus allowing Holy Trinity to flourish and grow into a thriving church family which presently serves about 300 families.

The PresentHoly Trinity has been at its present location on Chase Parkway for almost 45 years. During this period of time many improvements have been completed on the initial property. These significant upgrades include:

    >> Completion of all Church Interior & Narthex >> Completion of Administrative Office & Meeting Room >> Addition of Multi-Purpose Auditorium/Gymnasium >> Addition of full-service professional banquet kitchen area >> Addition of classrooms for Parish use and Rental income >> Reclamation of lower parking lot area >> Fully landscaped exterior grounds

The FutureBy God’s grace and the support of our faithful, we are looking forward to many more fruitful years fulfilling the sacred mission of the Great Church of Christ. Above all, we will continue proclaiming and teaching the Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith; sanctifying the faithful through God’s grace in worship, the Divine Liturgy and the other Mysteria (Sacraments); enhancing our parishioners’ spiritual life; and adding to the numbers of the Faith by receiving persons into the church through baptism and/or chrismation.

Our parish will continue to offer educational and philanthropic activities to foster the aims and mission of the church. Additionally, we will continue to offer ministries and programs that fulfill and contribute toward our mission and provide our faithful opportu-nities for fellowship and the celebration of heritage.

As we said more than 15 years ago during our expansion project, we continue this journey: “Building on the Past... With a Vision to the Future.”

BURN the mortgage capital campaignFundraising Goal: $187,000 to goOur Holy Trinity Church family has always shown its love and generosity for the church, which is an extension of our own homes. The Burn the Mortgage Committee is confident that with everyone’s assistance and generosity we will be able to meet our goal and burn the mortgage on the expansion facilities, allowing us to continue investing in future needs with no debt, which will assure a brighter and more stable future for our community.

Charitable GivingThe general operating budget for Holy Trinity cannot accommodate a Burn the Mort-gage Capital Campaign of this magnitude. Therefore, a Burn the Mortgage Committee has been established to seek charitable gifts and investments. Prospective sources for donations include our existing parish members, past members, friends of Holy Trinity, local area businesses, foundations, and vendors.

A capital campaign of this magnitude cannot succeed with one-time cash contribu-tions only. Gifts may be made in many ways - cash, securities, real estate, compa-ny-matched gifts, bequests, life insurance policies, “in-kind” donations (for example: professional services). Pledge cards can be found on page 6.

Tax FactsAll contributions to the Burn the Mortgage Capital Campaign are tax-deductible as Holy Trinity is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Donors will have the opportunity to make tax-deductible donations over two calendar years in 2017 and 18.

  • RECOGNITION OPPORTUNITIESDonor RecognitionAny new donation to the Burn the Mortgage project of $250 or more by a parishioner or friend of Holy Trinity will be recognized with a “leaf” that will display all the names of individuals/families that have donated to the project and be added to our tree from our original expansion project outside of the coffee hour room.

Memorial DonorsMany individuals have expressed a desire to donate in memory of loved ones who have passed away. The same opportunity would hold true for any memorial donation. A minimum $250 donation is needed to include a memorial acknowledgement for a leaf to be added to our recognition tree.

How Much Should I Give? This is a question each one of us must answer individually and with our heart. A goal of this magnitude cannot be realized without generosity. Please take prayerful consideration of your personal finances and family responsibilities when considering your pledge and gifts. We are asking everyone from our church to participate at any level. As we said many times in 2015, “fasouli to fasouli yemizei to sakouli.” In other words, it is bean by bean that the bag is filled. No donation is too small.

Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Proverbs 3:9 “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops…” 4

  • FAQ s1. What is the Holy Trinity Burn the Mortgage Campaign 2018? Our Burn the Mortgage Campaign is a 24-month (three tax years) endeavor be-ginning in 2016 to realize the payment in full of our mortgage from our expansion project during the early 2000s.

    2. What is the Project Theme?“Building on the Past... With a Vision to the Future...” This tried and true statement con-tinues to reflect the feelings of accomplish-ment for the past and our desire to make the future of our community even brighter!

    3. Who would benefit from this project? Our entire community especially our future generations. Burning our mort-gage would ensure a much more stable financial future for our community, while mitigating our debt-liabilities.
