A Harvest Dinner will be held at Neumann Hall, on Saturday, November 2nd, from 5 to 7:30PM. Menu is: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, squash, green beans, cranberry sauce, coffee, tea, and cider. Cost for adults - $ 8.00; Children - $4.00; children under 5 - free. All Parishioners are encouraged to attend for a wonderful meal and to help make this fund raiser a huge success!!! We are in need of the following donations: 20 Turkeys (please call Barb Pichette (570-663-2769) or Bette Brown (570-553-2108) if you are able to donate and/or roast a turkey), 25 large cans of chicken broth, 25 lbs frozen green beans, 160 lbs potatoes, 10 lbs celery, 4 lbs onions, 40 cans cranberry sauce, 36 bags/loaves stuffing (or day old bread), coffee, milk, and cider. Please drop donations off at Neumann Hall after the Sunday morning Mass on October 27th. The total amount needed is listed, however any amount of any item you can donate would be really appreciated. Also needed are pies, cakes, or another desserts. These can be dropped off by noon on the day of the Harvest Dinner. There is a sign up sheet in the back of Church, please note what you can donate. There is a second list for workers if you can donate some of your time. Workers are needed Friday, November 1st from 6 to 8PM and Sat-urday, November 2nd from 9AM to 7PM. MOM’S HOUSE EVENTS Doug’s Fish Fry will be at the Toys-R-Us parking lot THIS Saturday, until 6PM—Benefits Mom’s House. This year marks Mom’s House 25th Anniversary! We are excited to celebrate the mission of Mom’s House and our 25 years of service to low-income, single parent families in our community. These parents chose to make a better life for their families by pursuing their educational goals. Solution of Hope Banquet – 25th Anniversary will be held Thursday, October 24th, at Traditions at the Glen. Cost is $ 65.00 per person. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30PM and dinner at 6:30PM. Priest Care and Education: “Answering God’s call to a life of sacrifice and service administering to His people”

Our priests unconditionally answer the call to “Serve with Love” by responding to the ever increasing needs throughout our Diocese. Contributions to the Annual Appeal fund ongoing formation of our priests, permanent deacons, seminarians and deacon candidates. These funds also help us care for and support our 111 retired or ill priests, many of whom continue to generously assist with the celebration of Masses, the visitation of the sick and by offering spiritual guidance to all in need. They also assist the Vocations Office, which has been blessed with encouraging growth, in guiding those who are considering priesthood through a comprehensive discernment process. We are grateful to currently have 12 seminarians pursuing the priesthood in the Diocese of Scranton. Your gift to the Annual Appeal directly supports the celebration of the Eucharist, proclamation of the Gospel, administration of the Sacraments and devotions within our parish communities. St. Brigid Parish Appeal goal is $ 23,750.00, the same amount as last year.

CCD class have begun for the 2013/14 school year. Classes meet at Neumann Hall, Choconut, at 9:10AM on Sunday mornings. All students Kindergarten thru 12th grade are eligible to attend. STUDENT REGISTRATION FORMS: Student Registration forms are in the back of the Church. Please take one per student. You can return them in the collection basket or return them to the student’s teacher. Forms may also be returned to our CCD Coordinator, Susie Reichlen.
