November 9, 2014 - Lateran Basilica Dedication Holy People, Holy Places
Ezek 47:1-2, 8-9, 12 God’s restored temple will
be a source of abundant life. Psalm 46 The waters of the river gladden the
city of God. 1 Cor 3:9c-11, 16-17 You are God’s temple, built on the foundation of Christ. John 2:13-22 Jesus, God’s temple, cannot be
destroyed. What would you do if you en-tered your church and found vandals spraypainting obsceni-ties all over the walls and the altar? Such an outrageous offense would most certainly move you to some kind of ac-tion! It was the same for Jesus in today’s Gospel story. He was greatly offended by the vendors
in the temple who set up their displays, animal pens, birdcages and moneychanging stands in an-ticipation of the huge crowds pouring into Jerusa-lem for the Passover. Such blatant disrespect for God’s holy place was an abomination Jesus was unable to endure. -- Dc. Dick Folger

St. Mary’s Parish Mission Jesus revealed to his followers the secrets of God’s kingdom. In a Mission, he does the same for you. We would like to change our lives, become ‘new people’, more alive. The Mission offers us this pos-
sibility. Can you make this Mission? Decide today to put off anything that may interefere. You deserve this rich new life God offers you. Come to St. Mary of the Assumption’s Parish Mission (169 St. Paul Cres.) from Sunday November 29 – December 3 starting @ 7 p.m.

Deo Gratias Collection Please support the Deo Gratias Collection of No-vember 15/16. All revenue will go to our Clergy Aid Society. We are grateful to God, and to our retired clergy in the Diocese of St. Catharines who, from the time of their ordination, have cared for us and our spiritual needs. In thanksgiving to God for them and their years of faithful service, your generous support of the Deo Gratias collection will enable us to care for those who have dedicated their lives to caring for us. The revenue from this collection does not go into an endowment fund but goes directly to the Clergy Aid Society which provides an income for our retired clergy.
