Did you know that today we celebrate one of the “big three” solemnities in the liturgical year? Together with Christmas and Easter,

the feast of Pentecost ranks right up there in importance as we live the life of Christ in time through the liturgical year. The feast of

Pentecost has lost some of its charm, because our secular world hasn’t made it a day or season for buying gifts or Easter Eggs. You

never know how many shopping days there are till Pentecost. But Pentecost has not always been shortchanged, especially in the early

church. Today is the birthday of the church. May the birthday party continue at the Table of the Eucharist, as we call down the spirit

of Pentecost to hallow our gifts of bread and wine.

Announcements

Parish annual picnic will be held on August 3rd.

A pilgrimage has been arranged from May 23rd to May 26th,to Washington D.C. We will visit the shrine of Veilankani Matha as well as visit the rest of the capital city of America.Please contact the parish trustees (kaikarans) if you areinterested in taking part in this pilgrimage.

In month of June we will have Fifth family renewal Conve-ntion which will be lead by Fr Xavier Khan Vattayil and team. Youth sessions will be lead by Fr George Kumblumootil and Team.

A pilgrimage named “Foot Steps of St Paul” has been arra-nged in next September. In this pilgrimage we will visit places in Greece Turkey, Corinth, Thessalonica and related places of St Paul’s Missionary Journey. Ephesus, where Blessed Virgin Mary lived with John the Apostle would be a Highlight of this trip. For further information please contact Kaikarans.

Next Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. Please note the change of Liturgical season in our Prayers.

Last Sunday we had our “Parish Pothuyogam”. Thank you for your e�ectiveparticipation. Our church has a balance of $ 1,849.36 and total debt of $5,871,479.77. The pothuyogam approved to raise the amount of giving to theweekly to $20.00 from $10.00 on 5th of May onwards.

Today we will celebrate the combined celebration of Anniversaries of CCD and Malayalam School after 9.30 Mass. As we are coming closer to the CCD academic year I would like to extend sincere thanks to Sr Jeslin CMC, Dr. Jayaraj Francis, Sony Thevalakara and all CCD sta� members for their dedicated service of faith formation of our parish.
