TECHNICAL MANUAL
The Marley OVATION® gutter system is characterised by its discreet design and elegant shape that integrates seamlessly with the architectural style of any home, as well as its technical innovation which is at the core of the system’s optimum hydraulic capacity and simplicity of installation.
Gutter systems that change the way you think about gutters
OVATION® LG 28FEATURES & BENEFITS
1. The system has been shock tested at 0°C for one hour to test resistance in cold conditions (hail, pressure of a ladder).
2. Hot and cold cycle testing is performed at 100°C for 30 minutes and then cooled to ambient temperature.
No distortion or surface alteration was detected in the OVATION® LG 28 gutter.
3. Resistance to ageing: the gutter is exposed to ultraviolet radiation and/or rain/evaporation cycles for a total of 1600 hours.
After testing, the OVATION® LG 28 gutters showed no discolouration and their shock resistance was unchanged.
4. No leaking detected: the OVATION® LG 28 is a rubber, leak-free system
5. Resistance to corrosion from pollution and acids.
6. OVATION® gutters and brackets comply with European standards NF EN 607. The range of tests, designed to
reproduce once-in-a-decade hailstorm conditions, prove the high mechanical resistance of the OVATION® gutter systems, certified by the CSTB.

BRACKETS
The OVATION® system’s concealed brackets allow for a discreet, smooth design. The brackets are reinforced at the back to prevent them from coming unclipped, enhancing their mechanical resistance.
OUTLETS
For every 65m2, one outlet is required, on an average expected rainfall percentage.
135⁰ Internal corner
The gutter is easier to fit – once the gutter is correctly engaged at the edge of the brackets, it can simply be tipped to clip it onto the heel.

Regulations
Expansion coefficient: 0.7mm x metre x 10°C temperature difference
If the installation is line blocked at both ends or at the free end and does not exceed 12m, an expansion outlet is required.
Roof area that can be drained by an OVATION® Gutter and Downpipe system.
Using the gable end roof example - for a roof area of 80m2 and a roof angle of 23⁰, you will require either of the following downpipe options.
Option 1 - as one round 80mm/rectangular 100x50mm downpipe services a roof area of 80m2 it would require one downpipe
Option 2 - as one eclipse/round 65mm/rectangular 65x50mm downpipe services a roof area of 60m2, then a roof area of 80m2 would require two downpipes.
*Based on average rainfall intensity of 100mm per hour
If the installation runs around a 4-slope roof, expansion outlets as well as expansion pieces are required.
OVATION® expansion outlets and pieces are designed for effective expansion control. A graduation system is used to align the profile with the ambient temperature mark. This way of controlling the profile’s expansion enables the OVATION® gutter system to withstand great temperature variations.

a. Fitting brackets b. Position the outlets
b. Fitting the gutter
1. FITTING THE GUTTER PROFILE
1 Fitting an expansion or rubber gasket outlet
• Establish the position of the outlets according to the downpipe position.• Fit the outlet onto the fascia to make a fixed point for the gutter to move smoothly.• For a seal joint outlet, if the gutter stopend is more than 5cm, a fascia bracket must be used.
1 Cutting the profile
• Measure the gutter to the required length, taking into consideration the expansion markings on the outlet fitting. • Cut the profile using the OVATION® cutting gauge and a handsaw, then smooth the edge with fine emery paper.
Rubber seal stopends:
• Stopends, union parts and angles are clipped from the back to the front into the gutter profile.
2 Fitting the gutter
• Place the gutter on the nose of the brackets first, tip it and carefully clip the profile into the back of the bracket.
• Apply lubricant to the rubber seal of the outlet, slide the gutter into the ambient temperature mark.
1 Fitting to the fascia
• Starting at one end, measure the height of the brackets on both ends of the fascia and attach a string to mark the position of the brackets in the middle.
• Measure the brackets to the fascia in regular intervals of no more than 0.60m. • Attach the brackets to the fascia board.

d. Changing the direction of the downpipe
c. Fitting the downpipes
e. Connecting to a catch basin or around storm drainage
• Prepare the off-set by joining 2 bends with a piece of downpipe according to your measurements.
• Refer to picture for correct measurements
• To change the direction of a downpipe or restore the right alignment for rainwater drainage, use a lateral direction change bend or a downpipe collector.
• Cut the downpipe using a handsaw and the OVATION® cutting gauge. • Smooth the edges with fine emery paper.• If there are 2 sections of roof to service, use a downpipe outlet or a branch.• The pipe is fastened by clipping the pipe clips. The clips can only be unclipped using a screwdriver.• Use a coupling to join 2 downpipes. The male socket must be glued; however, the female socket must be allowed to expand freely when the pipe is placed against the mark.
• The universal outlet is connected at one end to the OVATION® downpipe, facing the mark, and at the other to a round pipe or rainwater catch basin.
• Mark the position of the first pipe brackets under the off-set.• Use a plumb line and square to mark the vertical alignment on the wall.• Make a “dummy” assembly of the pipes to mark the position of the brackets. To prevent the parts from sliding down, fix a bracket under each coupling.• Fasten the pipe clips to the wall with brackets or dowel pins.• To hold the downpipe, place pipe brackets at approximately 2m intervals.
