• The business of power distribution in delhi was transferred to BYPL and BRPL in 2002

• These two of the three successor entities distribute electricity to 32 lakh customers in two third of delhi

SUBSTATION

• Electrical power is produced in remote areas• Power is transmitted through transmission

lines• Changes are made in the characteristics of

power• Transformers are used to step up or step down

the voltage

DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

• Line at 33 kv from ‘kondli’ is stepped down to 11 kv

• Supply is then transferred to local areas

• BYPL covers east and central region of delhi• BRPL covers south and west region of delhi• BSES supplies the load of 3799 MW• BSES comprised of 124 grids till december’12• BSSES has 339 66kv and 33 kv feeders
