BLENDED OPEN HOUSE
BLENDIT! BECAUSE LIFE IS BLENDED
What isBlended Methodology?
Get an up-close-and-personal look at the new way of learning
at our Blended Open House in Madrid.
During this event, we will give established professionals the
chance to experience a teaser of our intense and rewarding
MBAs and IE Business School experience.
As the way we work changes, so should the way we learn.
Business is no longer limited to boardrooms and cubicles. It is
outside the office, on the road and online. With our Blended
Methodology, we offer an experience that echoes the needs
of the modern professional. There is no need to take time off
work; our state-of-the-art virtual campus provides an
environment where you can learn and liaise, making
network-expanding connections that are then strengthened
in the residential periods.
It’s live virtual sessions, weekly forums and activities. It’s
face-to-face modules in a variety of countries and continents.
It’s the very best of two worlds designed to impact yours.
Our approach to educational excellence means we’re
constantly in motion. For 16 years we have honed our
blended programs, providing meticulously-designed, highly
impactful interactive lessons that focus on both group work
and case studies. Give presentations. Gain insight. Interact
with classmates and the professor in a way you never
thought possible before.

OPEN HOUSE AGENDAOUR BLENDED
The international wine market, worth over 25 billion annually, has traditionally been dominated
by major players in Europe. Recently, the emergence of new players has caused this to change.
We will begin by looking at the changes and trends that are taking place at the macro level,
from producers to consumers and exporters to importers. We’ll then go on to examine new
motion at the micro level, discussing evolving consumption habits, the impact of the internet
and the role of “prescribers” in the promotion and distribution of wine.
The Master Class will be given by Fernando F. Cortiñas Luquez. A Harvard University MBA
graduate and former Director of Information Security in South America with Telefónica,
Fernando is now a Professor of Marketing at IE Business School. With his extensive
experience, and a background in multiple areas of marketing (marketing strategy,
marketing management, international marketing), his knowledge and insight has proven to
be an invaluable asset to both his students and the institution he represents.

OUR BLENDED MBA PORTFOLIOIN A NUTSHELLGlobalMBA

technologically curious, naturally innovative and excited to
drive tech-based progress. You want to push the boundaries
of technology to bring about transformation. The Global MBA
delivers an innovative and intense educational experience
thanks to our signature Blended Methodology. Because we
know life is Blended.
ExecutiveMBA
What is a leader of the future? It’s an online marketer and a
social media strategist. It’s a snappy copywriter and an SEO
guru. It’s a trend-spotter and a trendsetter, a product
launcher and a serial networker. With so many skills it’s hard
to get ahead. We designed the Executive MBA with this in
mind – using our Blended Methodology we mix online
teaching with real life, face-to-face learning.
Global ExecutiveMBA
Our Global Executive MBA converts experience into success.
Designed with established professionals in mind, this
intensive 15-month program includes five face-to-face
periods in Spain, Singapore, Brazil and the USA. Taught
through three interdisciplinary modules, you’ll learn how to
get ahead in the world of international business.
IE Brown Executive MBA
If two heads are better than one, imagine two top-tier
business schools. We have forged a unique alliance to offer a
joint Executive MBA degree that goes beyond the boundaries
of traditional business education. A 15-month, multi-faceted
program tailored for established executives who are looking
to do the same.
IE-SMU MBA
Give your proven professional experience a new direction and
open yourself up to new opportunities in Asia with this
bridge-building, culture-sharing, market-specializing MBA.
Using IE Business school’s world-ranking Blended Methodology,
you can benefit from the combined knowledge of the best
Asian market insiders at both Singapore Management
University (SMU) and IE Business School.
WHAT TO DO AFTER OUR OPEN HOUSE
Thyssen-BornemiszaAt times underappreciated because of the
shadow cast by El Prado and Reina Sofia, this
slightly smaller but equally impressive museum
houses artwork that spans from the 13th to the
late 20th century. Featuring paintings by
Sorolla, Freud, Van Gogh and Dalí (to name a
few), this extensive collection fills in the gaps left
by the the other two museums in stunning style.
1
Matadero de MadridA little farther out, in the Arganzuela district of
Madrid, you will find the Matadero cultural
center. The name, which means ‘slaughterhouse’
in English, comes from the fact that it actually
used to be one. Now, however, it’s a lively place
that promotes cultural activity with a focus on
public access and participation, resulting in a
unique experience that is especially enchanting
if this isn’t your first time in Madrid.
2
RetiroIf you find you need some time to relax and take
a breather, there’s no better place than Madrid’s
Retiro Park. Originally built for use by the royals,
the park opened up to the public in the late 19th
century. One of the most notable features of the
park is the lake where you can hire a rowboat to
relax on the water. There’s also the Palacio de
Cristal (Crystal Palace), which was originally
built to display flowers from the Philippines.
