Third and Fourth Grade Talent Show

Every autumn, third and fourth

grade boys display their talent during

a Lower School assembly. It is fun-filled hour that is

packed with music, dance, art, and

unique entertainment from our boys. First and

second graders have their talent

show in the spring.

The Great Lego Family Challenge

by Mr. MartellIn 2nd grade the boys are

challenged to develop a boat using a square piece of

aluminum foil. Their first test is to place penny

passengers on the boat. The top 2 teams that succeed at this are then entered into

the Great Lego Family Challenge. Using their boat

they have to get 22 Lego people and 26 pieces of luggage to successfully

survive on the water. Last year and up until the last

2nd grade class no one was able to complete the challenge until Mrs. Weitzman's and Ms.

Orlando's class came up to the lab. It was between the team of Rocco Coschigano, Robert Jacobson and the

team of Will Forshner, David Beeson. Rocco and

Robert went first and used a strategy that no other

team had used. Their boat ended up sinking but Will

and David paid close attention and used their strategy. As a result of

their wonderful teamwork they were the first 2nd

grade team to complete the challenge at the lower

school.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Nick. He lived on a

plant and used magic. He had a mom that worked at a clothing store. Nick’s dad worked at a blacksmith store. They were very kind. Nick went to magic

school where he was taught how to use non-violent water magic. Nick was very good in class, but at home he dawdled all the time. One day he went into a cave and

saw a person in the water. To be continued...
