Welcome This is a first time experiment with webinars – ask for understanding if there are learning pains great response – will need to rely on the Q&A function for questions. Will stop periodically to review and answer the questions so far I will also be recording this so it will be available later as well. It is also made possible by the sharing from other UCC churches of their materials. I would also stress that these successful churches whose materials we will be looking at did not just invent them out of thin air, but took advantage of workshops, trainings, consulting and other resources of the wider church.

Time and expense spent to develop clergy and lay leadership in this area pays off many times over Need people with an understanding of faith, generosity and fundraising – Pastor may need to take a lead, but the goal should be eventually passing off to lay leadership with the pastor still involved in the background support and worship Take advantage of wider church resources, trainings, books, etc. to develop leaders Skill – do not need to be a permanent part of the team, but can be asked to do discrete tasks to support the team. Developing a Theme Success starts here – do not skip Pastoral leadership helpful here Bible study UCC or other themes with materials
Consistent theme among successful churches is that they took the time to develop a theme and to internalize it. Pastoral leadership can help team members focus on generosity over funding the budget; abundance over scarcity; bring scriptural resources and interpretation to bear.

A commitment by pastor to this work – but pays off in quality. Pastor was the first to testify – leading by example Also – they do testimonies every week.
