Welcome to the 49th Annual Production Sale. A big thank you to all the buyers and bidders that have expressed interest in our programs. As with every year, Mother Nature makes things interesting. The spring showed much promise but when the heat came it was very relentless. The hardiness of the Hereford cattle showed their true colors by doing a great job on their calves while maintaining body condition going into winter.As always we are committed to raising cattle for the commercial industry. We hope as you analyze the cattle in the offering, you will find fresh genetics to move your programs forward during these good times in the industry. On behalf of everyone at the BBSF and BAR-RZ outfits, we hope you can join us on December 1st.

The 2017 calves received Pfizer One Shot and Vision 7 in the spring as well as a booster in the fall. All sale cattle were treated with Iveron in the fall. The bred heifers were pregnancy examined on August 25th.

This classy individual is one of the most complete, well balanced calves in the offering. Rose 119Z has been a real outstanding matron. She had a high seller in 2015 to Scott Watson. Her heifer calves have competed at the top at CWA.

Here is a real deep loose made calf that is short marked. His 164X mother is a model female - great uddered with tons of volume. These females are very impressive.


This calf is very similar in type to all the other Anodyne calves. they have a very good birth to weaning growth pattern. He is out of a very nice two year old Avenger daughter. They are not big but are really good uddered and doing a very good job raising a calf.

Debate has been a real popular bull in the offering. He is very long sided but with the help of his sire Havanna maintaining lots of thickness. Maternally he traces back to the 23U bull used so successfully for McCoy Farms.

Hair, muscle, nuts and powerful. Never have we raised a calf with as much natural muscle. Stands wide and correct on all fours and has a great foot to stand on. Champion Bull at Hardisty in August. Out of a nice, young deep bodied easy fleshing moderate frame “Rolex” cow with great feet and lots of milk with nice teat size. Great cows and longevity on both sides of the pedigree. Terms: Terms are cash or cheque sale day unless prior arrangements have been made. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made. No invoices will be provided for buyers in attendance unless prior arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds.

Phone, Mail, Wire Bids: Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone, wire or mail their bids to the auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

Pedigrees: Each purebred animal will carry a registration paper issued by the Canadian Hereford Association. A registration certificate will be duly transferred to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made.

Transfer of Ownership: Proper transfer instructions must be provided at the conclusion of the sale. Extensions will be granted on order bids only. Cost incurred due to incorrect transfer information will be borne by the purchaser. Ownership will not be transferred until full settlement has been made.

Guarantee: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. Females have been pregnancy tested safe and are considered breeders without any further guarantee. Bull calves, if failing to become breeders, will be replaced or credit given for the purchase of a replacement.

Liability: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The owners, their employees, sales staff, representatives and facility owner assume no liability, legal or otherwise, should any accidents occur.

Delivery: Delivery will be at cost and the buyer’s risk, should the buyer choose delivery. Assistance will be provided for arranging delivery of cattle. Export cattle will have all necessary health testing performed. Other costs (i.e. brokerage, etc.) will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

Insurance: Agents will be in attendance to insure your purchases. We strongly recommend that purchases are insured for full value.

Errata: All announcements at sale time, written or oral, supersede any written material in the catalogue.

Lunch: Please join us for lunch prior to the sale.

Bull Wintering: On bull purchases of $4000 or more, we will winter your bull free of charge until April 1, 2018. On bull purchases less than $4000, cost of wintering will be $400 for bull calves and $500 for yearling bulls, unless 2 or more bulls are purchased. Wintering will be free of charge. All bulls wintered MUST be insured. Buyers choosing to take their bulls home sale day will receive a $100 discount.
