DESCRIPTION

Agenda and copies of documents distributed at the Brockett Heights Community Meeting held June 24, 2014, at the Greater Atlanta Homebuilder's Association building. Hosted by Cheryl and Paul Miller, residents of Briarcliff Heights and founders of the Save Tucker! advocacy group and Get the Cell Out - Atlanta. Co-hosted by Tom Gilbert, former candidate for the DeKalb County School Board and one of the first homeowners in our community. Other notable attendees included Sheriff-elect Jeff Mann, DeKalb County Police Sergeant Brown, State Senator Steve Henson, Tucker Together President Michelle Penkava, Tucker 2014 block captain Katherine Atterberry, Local Realtor Josh Wallace. Guest speakers were DeKalb Police Lieutenant Donnie James, DeKalb School Board Super District Representative Karen Carter and DeKalb County Commissioner Kathie Gannon. Attendance noted by sign-ins was 40 residents from Brockett Heights and the surrounding community. Purpose for meeting: to bring neighbors together in an effort to discuss concerns regarding representation in both the county's plans for our area as well as concerns about the community being left out or overlooked by city formation groups during the last legislative session. Feedback was very positive and therefore the group plans to meet again on Tuesday, August 26, at the same location, the Homebuilder's Association building, 1484 Brockett Road, tentatively set for 6:30 - 8 p.m. Additional notification will be disseminated via email, flyers and on the new interactive online message board, "Next Door." Distributed as part of the meeting agenda, this map shows where key players for city incorporation areLocated and how Brockett Heights and surrounding areas are being overlooked. The numbers in the

Map above that do not have anything around them (square, circle, etc.) are the Tucker 2014 organizers.

Please note how so many of these group members live very near to one another, but so few of The Tucker members actually live in Tucker. Our concern is that we are not being represented and have heard

Rumors about annexation plans for Clarkston.
