Project Objectives
Objectives:Promote transparency and competition.Map performance of broadband connections in
different areas of the country.
Tools:Provide consumers with:
simple, easy to use tools, to measure their broadband connection (performance, network neutrality)
useful personalized and country-wide geographical statistics.
Develop statistical methods and tools for use by the NRA.
The Athens M-Lab Node
M-Lab web site is available in Greek: http://www.measurement-lab.org/
KO.M.E.X. utilizes the Athens Measurement Lab Node, donated by EETT and GRnet to the M-Lab partnership. 3 high-end (3x2x4-core CPUs)
measurement servers. 1Gbps optical link with GR-IX via
GRnet’s network. http://www.gr-ix.gr/services/statistics/
The GR-IX interconnects Greek ISPs’ backbone networks, utilizing 100Gbps/10Gbps optical links.
The node is capable of supporting a significant number of concurrent active measurements.
