FOOD PANTRY We continue to ask for your support with donations for our Food Pantry, it is always a great help! Please place donations in the Barrel marked Food Pantry. There is a

need, for 1lb.and 2lb. bags of white rice and and beans, canned soups, chili, peanut butter and jam. We have a need for men’s TUBE SOCKS AND USABLE SLEEPING BAGS.

We no longer are taking egg cartons. PLEASE WE

Resurrection Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society

THANK YOU ! Thanks for your gift! The 5th Sunday Collection on May

29th was a whopping $5,623. This is remarkable since the collection took place on a holiday weekend when many of our parishioners

were out of town. :) What’s new? In addition to giving you a resounding thank you,

we would also like to give you an update on our food distribution activities here at Resurrection on every second and fourth Thursday afternoon. The Redwood Empire Food Bank is no longer able to provide free produce. Beginning July 1st, the Food Bank will begin charging $0.03 a pound for produce. While this is an extremely reasonable price, it will increase our food bill by approximately $250

per distribution. :( Thanks for your time! To maximize the impact of your

donations, we have been buying rice in bulk and doing our own bag ging. This reduces the cost of rice from $ 0.43 per pound to $0.12 per pound, saving $95 per distribution. In response to our request for assistance with bagging, 19 parishioners (many from the Altar Society) came to our aid on a very HOT Tuesday afternoon and

proved that many hands do make light work. :) We remain deeply grateful to the Community of Resurrection, The Members of the Resurrection Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society

Que hay Nuevo? Aparte de darle las gracias rotunda-

mente, queremos actualizarle sobre las actividades de la dis-tribución de comida aquí en la Resurrección que ocurre cada segundo y cuarto jueves en la tarde. El Banco de Comida Redwood Empire no puede proveer despensa gra-tis. Empezando el 1ro de julio, el Banco de Comida comenza-ra cobrando $0.03 por libra de despensa. Aunque este es un precio extremadamente razonable, aumentara el costo de la

comida a $250 por distribución. :(
