Papers are accepted on the understanding that they are contributed solely to this Journal, and that they are subject to editorial revision. Papers should be prefaced by an abstract of the argument and findings; this abstract should be more comprehensive than a summary, which will not be required. Papers must be typewritten on one side of the paper only, in double spacing, and with a wide margin. SI units must be used throughout (Baron et al., Journal of Clinical Pathology, 27, 590). Photographs and photomicrographs should be printed on glossy paper and should be unmarked. Charts and graphs accompanying papers should be carefully drawn in black ink on tracing linen or Bristol board or stout, smooth, white paper; any lettering should be lightly inserted in pencil. References References will not be checked by the editorial office; responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of references lies with the author. In the text the year of publication in brackets must follow the author's name. At the end of the paper, references should be arranged in alphabetical order of authors' names. Such references should give the author's name, followed by initials and year of publication in brackets, the title of the article, the name of the journal (in full) in which the article appeared, the volume number in arabic numerals, followed by the numbers of the first and last pages of the article. When a book is referred to, the place and year of publication, edition, and page number of the reference quoted should be given.
