Fabulous news for us here at marc Antoni. At the annual British Hairdressing Awards our very own Bruno marc stole the show by bringing home the title of Southern Hairdresser of the Year!

Held at London’s Grosvenor House hotel and hosted by none other than Jonathan Ross, Bruno who first won this prestigious accolade in 2007, told the upstanding audience: “Magic – it’s been worth the wait – thank you each and all!”

Used to mingling with icons of the hair world, Dan Spiller of Fleet recently joined session styling legend Eugene Soulieman and his team backstage at Paris Fashion Week to create the hair looks for Haider Ackermann and Issey miyake. On his experience Dan said: “Getting to work with an icon of mine was a complete honour and one of the most exciting things that has happened in my career. He’s given me so much inspiration to share with our team.”

At the close of 2011 Bruno marc found himself on

stage at the Royal Albert Hall as one of 15 finalists

competing for the International visionary

Award. Contestants from throughout the world showcased a

myriad of outstanding avant-garde

creations, from huge furballs and exaggerated mohicans to asymmetric towers of hair. Bruno

however chose to stick to his roots and presented a

fabulous signature haircut. Although first place went to marco Lamberti, Italy, Bruno made history by becoming the first ever runner-up in the UK!

SImON GIAmATTEI prepares for CYCLE CHALLENGE

Our Dan once again did us proud by bringing home yet another trophy – this time Creative Head’s It List Visionary Award 2012. Presented at the Lawrence Hall in London by Keith Lemon, the It List are renowned for

showcasing exceptional talent and unrivalled passion, and Dan’s triumph pays homage to that very accolade.

CHRIS COX TAKES OVER

marc Antoni Director Simon Giamattei has entered the Ibiza Round the Island Cycle Challenge. This unique two-day cycle challenge to raise funds for HAIRraising, an appeal to build two new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Hospital, is a no mean feat, covering up to 150km and taking in inclines and rugged terrain.

The cycling begins on Saturday 5 May and has two routes that day, with differing levels of difficulty. Both routes see the group cycle out and south, hugging the beautiful southern coastline before heading back up the west coast towards San Antonio. The following day again offers two routes and sees the team head in the exact opposite direction and ride the northern coast. By the time the ride has finished, Simon can claim to have ridden his entire way around Ibiza.

Although this trip is physically tough, Simon has said, “This trip is nothing compared to what these kids, who we are raising money for, go through. Ultimately it is all about them. I am proud to be doing my bit for the deserved charity.”

Simon is hoping to raise a staggering £7000 for the charity, and has already secured sponsorship from ghd and Moroccan Oil. CAvERSHAmMember of the Marc Antoni Art Team – whose input saw us nominated for Artistic Team of the Year in the British Hairdressing Awards, Christopher Cox has taken over the reins of management at our latest addition, Caversham.

Christopher also represents Marc Antoni with our professional partner Wella Professionals in the role of guest educator in recognition of his ‘red carpet hair’ creativity. Formerly at Reading, Chris is on a mission to take Caversham to new heights, and has already won the respect of his new team and clients alike within his new role.

MARC ANTONI ShineAT AWARDS

The entire body of marc Antoni staff gathered on Saturday 7th January 2012, in Reading for a night of festivities at the annual marc Antoni Awards, held to reward team members who have exceled and shone in salon.

The night opened with a video demonstrating our team’s photographic collections, including the beautiful Strike, which won Bruno Giamattei, manager of our Henley salon the title of Southern Hairdresser of the Year, back in November. The video went onto entertain and perhaps even embarrass some of our team members, showing (what they may have hoped was long forgotten) footage of them dressed up for various events, from Minnie Mouse to Michael Jackson, no one was exempt!

Aaron Giamattei, manager of our Bracknell salon compered the evening and reiterated the Marc Antoni ethos of continually raising and hopefully surpassing the expectations of our clientele. We appreciate the current economic climate is difficult, and this is why as a company we are striving to offer the best value service we can. 2012 is set to be the year of the client!
