• UDS asks that farms pledge they
are:
• family or cooperatively owned.
• committed to reducing the application
of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
• operated in such a way that protects
and sustains the region's land and
water resources.
• treating animals with care and respect.
• providing safe and fair working
conditions for employees.
• selling products of Wisconsin that are
grown on the farm, or that they helped
produce.
Request for Proposal
• UWSP wishes to purchase a target amount of 20% of food items from Wisconsin-based, environmentally friendly, organic, and natural food suppliers during the course of this contract. The campus seeks a partnership with the successful bidder to establish a cost effective program of local and sustainable purchasing. Local is defined as being produced within 100 miles of Stevens Point and regional as being produced within 250 miles of Stevens Point. Please provide detailed explanation about the ability of your company to provide local and sustainable products, as well as two customer references who can discuss your execution of providing local and sustainable products.
• University Dining Services at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point reserves the right to purchase food products that are not carried by the successful vendor from others if deemed in the best interest of the University and its students.
Liability insurance
• Minimum Limits: Minimum specified limits must be received unless prior approval is received by the Purchasing Director. These limits may be reached by combining a commercial general liability policy limit with an umbrella policy limit. For example, a vendor may have a general/automobile liability policy with a $500,000 limit and a $1,000,000 umbrella. This total meets a $1,000,000 general/automobile/umbrella requirement. Vendors Insurance Program: The Standard Limits are the minimum acceptable for any vendor, but there are specific requirements for vendors of high risk services that supersede the Standard Limits. Please refer to PRO-D-34 and this document before specifying vendor coverage requirements. If commodity purchase requires installation of heavy equipment, contact Risk Management.
• I. Standard Insurance Limits
