Contents and purpose These instructions have been created in order to aid with the configuration of an iPhone device (or any iOS4 device) and attach it to the Unilever email system. This document assumes that the device is already provided with a data service and has been synched and enabled via an iTunes account.

1. Configuring for Unilever Email

In order to configure email to work with your Unilever email account you will need the following information:-

• Email address - this is your email address (e.g. [email protected]) • Domain name, this will be one of the following:-

o S3 (Americas Users) o S2 (European and AMET Users) o S1 (Asia Users)

• User Name - this is your windows user id (e.g. John.Doe) • Password - This is the password you use when you log into your pc • Server Name - MYMAIL.UNILEVER.COM

From the iphone’s menu select the Mail icon on the bottom row (for users who already have other email account configured on the device please go via the “Settings” icon, then select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and then click “Add Account….” :-

As there is no email service yet configured you will be prompted to choose a mail provider:-

Please select Microsoft Exchange. You will then be prompted with the following screen:-

Please fill in these as appropriate; the screen shots below can be used as an example.

• Email address - this is your email address • Domain name, this will be one of the following:-

o S3 (Americas Users) o S2 (European and AMET Users) o S1 (Asia Users)

• User Name - this is your windows user id (does not have @unilever.com) • Password - This is the password you use when you log into your pc

On clicking next the phone will automatically verify your settings and attempt to find the Exchange server. This may take a few moments or even minutes, but will not succeed. The phone will then prompt you to enter the server’s name.

Enter the exchange gateway server’s name, mymail.unilever.com, as shown below:-

After clicking “Next” again the verification will take place again, but should succeed this time.

Please click “Save” and the phone will switch to the mail view. This will not populate email though until your device is configured to support a 4 digit password. Press the main device button (below the screen) to return to the menu.

Press the “Mail” icon again and you should be presented with the following screen:-

The creation of this passcode is a mandatory requirement for connection to Unilever’s email. Please click the “Continue” option and enter, and then confirm, a 4 digit PIN code:

Once a pin code is in place your email, contacts and calendars will populate from your Exchange email account. Configuration for access to your Unilever email is then complete.
