NEW OF THE CAMPUS

* Building continues on the new campus. The fifth and sixthfaculty house are nearing completion. The seventh house has just completedthe foundation. The classroom block continues to progress toward thelentil level. Roofing will come later this year. Library andAdministration Building. Plans hava been accepted by the College and arenow submitted to the Lands Department. The College hopes to beginconstruction by January, 2002.

* Future Project. DORMITORY. Bright Outreach and others arecommitted to raise the necessary funds to build the first phase of thisproject. Itwill cost approximately $200,000. So far there is $21,000.BrightOutreach has contributed $13,000 of this amount. Your prayerfulsupport is needed very much.

* ThirdTerm Resumes Apr. 24. Dr. Dennis Gaertner of Johnson BibleCollege will be a special guest lecturer June 4-9 for Spiritual EmphasisWeek. Graduation is July 14. Timwill be teaching two sections ofCross-cultural Evangelism, Acts, and Advanced Greek.

PEOPLE

* Dr. Ron Rife and wife, Doris, are on leave in the U.S. until July11. They will be at the NACC in Tampa, Fl, June 26-29 at the Collegebooth.

* Prof. Christian Adjei and wife, Agness, are in Houston, TX Mrs.Adjei is extremely ill with cancer. Your prayers are appreciated verymuch.

* Prof. Nelson Ahlijah is on study leave at Lincoln ChristianSeminary. He retums in July, 2001.

BRIGHT FAMILY

* The children all continue to remain in the U.S. working and/orgoing to college.

* Tim and Twyla will travel to the U.S. May 17 - June 3 to attendand participate in Nathan, their youngest son's, wedding. Nathan willgraduate from Cincinnati Bible College in May.

TIM'S TRAVELS

* As the Second Term closed Tim and two students went to Salaga,Northem Region. The first night the "Jesus" film was shown to a Kukombavillage. Therewere eight who responded. The next nightwas met with somerejection as the film was shown to a Gongia village, mostly Muslim.Howevere there were several hundred people (about 500-600) pressing closely

to watch the "Jesus" film. Please pray that e>angellsts Karimu and FrancisAdae will be able to fbllow-up on this place. Tim travsled ovsr 1200 milesin four days.

* The Ghana mission team traveled to Ivory Coast and Mali. After20 hours on the road, at least 12 police checks in Ivcry Coast alone, andsome very rough pot holes, we arrived in Polo, ivsry Coast. The purpose ofthe trip was to attend the West Africa Christian Church Missionary annualmeeting. We also vsited the work of Justin Sylvestre in Kadiolo, Mali,accross the board about 15 miles. During the last ten years or so Justinand his fetmily have established a good working farm for the nationals, amedical clinic now staffed by native Ugandan Christian Church missionaries,and the number one radio station in Mall. The trip was >«ry fruitful evenafter 20 hours of sitting. God blessed us with a good rented van andexperienced dri\«r.

* Tim and Albert Takyi traveled to a place called Dzemeni on VoltaLake on Palm Sunday. This church hosted a joint service with FrankaduaChristian Church (also a new church). Nearby is a vllage dedicated to thedevl. From that village came one person for baptism, plus two others fromthe town. Please pray for this work. Francis Agbodo, a Jr. student, isministering to these churches.

PRAYERS

Sunday - Pray for Ghana Christian Churches. The devil is trying to causeconfusion and division in some.

Monday - Tim and Twyla as they prepare and teach.Tuesday - Ghana Christian College relocation projects.Wednesday - Bright Family in U.S.Thursday - GCCS faculty and students.Friday - The country of Ghana as it tries to get out of the ecconomicproblems, for peace and stability AND DEEP CHRISTIAN COMMITMENT.Saturday - Christian Adjei, and especially his wifeand family.

COLLEGE HAPPENINGS

A- New Campus a€" The multipurpose classroom building is completing themiddle section. This is a two story building with a clock tower on the topof it. Build progress is sloviring moving along. Roofing on the is new outerwing is near completion. Faculty housing for staff is continuing. One houseis getting facing and roofing. The other house still needs plumbing.

A- Graduation 3€" On July 14 there wereforty-three graduates whorecei\^ theircertificates this year. Speaker was Dr. Otubill, founder ofIntemational Central Gospel Church and Central Univsrsity. The Collegechoir, speaker and others specials were outstanding as usual they presentedto o\er one thousands guests.

A- August Sessions a€"Tim taught twoweeks this year teaching ChurchAdministration and the Book of Acts. There were 58 students in all. As

usual the celebrations expressed their usual high pitched fer\^r on the finalday. That day also ended with a party and some gifts for tedchers. Theclasses are extremely intensl\t, four hours a day for 5days per course.

A- NEW STUDENTS a€" Forty-six students were accepted of the fifty-threewho sat for entrance exams this year. The College expects an enrollmentincrease over the last couple of years. Right now the lack of classroomspace on the old campus, combined classes with other programs, cramped livingquarters, and lack of need staff and teachers are prevsnting significantgrowth in student population. Along with the new campus please pray forthese challenges.

A- FACULTY a€" On lea\e is Brian Jennings in Britain until Jan. 2002.David and Barbara Kalb are also on leave until Dec. 2001. Dr. and Mrs. Rife

returned to Ghana in July 2001. The Patrick Cline family retums Sept. 1,2001. Also retuming from study leava was Nelson Ahlijah. He completed hismasters degree at Lincoln Christian College. Retiring was Mrs. A. Eghaghafiom sixteen years of service at the College. Two new members coming for theFirst Term of the new academic year are Christopher Adjei and Mrs. Wiafi. Asyou can many changes havs been made in the past lew months.

A- MARRIED §€' Christian Adjei who recently lost his wife was married toa long time friend, also single. He was married Aug. 4. Congratulations arein order.

A- Seminar §€' Prof. Joseph Nsiah and Pres. Christian Adjei ha\ecompleted three weeks at an administration seminar as the College upgrades tomeet the growing challenges of a growing challenges.

Bright Family

Tim and Twyla continue to enjoy reasonably good health. Howe>er, Twyla wasseverely ill during the first part of August. She is now nearly fullyrecovered and back working at Lincoln Community School. She is the LanguageArts department head, coordinator for the school's year book, and is involvedin several other capacities.

Ghana Christian College will begin their thirty-sixth academic year, Sept.10. Tim is teaching Church Administration, Life of Christ, Romans andGalatians, and a class on cults that in\x)l\es two different levels allmeeting in the same room.

At this time their six children, and four spooks are doing well. They areall working and or in college.

ON THE ROAD WITH TIM:

Sept. 2 - Mayera; Sept. 9-10 - Cape Coast; Sept. 16-18 - Central Regiondeveloping two new churches for the Christian Churches in Ghana; Sept. 23 -Frankadua; Sept. 30 - Gemini. Please pray for safety in tra\el. Tim has afull schedule with each Sunday filled to Christmas.

SUMMER GUESTS

These included Susan Conwin and Rose Smith of Rushsylvania Church of Christduring the latter part of June and early part of July. During the middle ofJuly (15-23) Alan and Erin Ayette vsited the Brights. They camerepresenting Palestine Church of Christ, the sending Church of BrightOutreach. Having these guests was a particular joy and answer to prayer. Itwas the first time that anyone from supporting churches came to visit theBrights since they arrived on the field in June of 1991. What a blessings tohelp celebrate Tim and Twyla's tenth anniversary in Ghana.

FINANCIAL PICTURE

The picture looks very good. So far your gifts have provided good supportfor the new dorm as it reaches to $26,000 in the dorm fund for the newcampus. Bright Outreach has contributed $18,000 this year. Total cost ofthis project is about $200,000.

road. Pray for traveling mercies. The increase of traffic in Accra, thecapital city of Ghana, has increased immensely over the last year. Thehighways are also very hazardous and most are in poor condition.

Peace and Growth of Ghana. The finances in Ghana are very tough. Peoplework for about a dollar a day or less (many with a masters degree get lessthan a dollar a day!). Pray for development of the country and spiritualgrowth.

College Happenings:

The College choir,speaker, and other specials were outstanding, and as usual the program was presented to over one thousandguests.

August Sessions-Tim taught two weeks this year, teaching Church Administration and the Book ofActs. There were 58 students in all. As usual, the celebrations expressed their high pitched fervor on thefinal day. That day ended with a party and some gifts for teachers. The classes are extremely intensive, fourhours a day for five days per course.

New Students: Forty-six students were accepted of the fifty-three who sat for entrance exams this year. TheCollege expects an enrollment increase over the next couple of years. Right now the lack of classroom space

on the old campus, combined classes with other programs, cramped living quarters, and lack of needed staffand teachers are preventing significant growth in student population. Along with the new campus, pleasepray for these challenges.

Retiring was Mrs. Eghagha, aftersixteenyears ofservice at the College. Two new members coming forthefirst term ofthenew academic year are Christopher Adjei andMrs. Wiafi. Married-Christian Adjei, who recently lost hiswife, was married to a long-time fiiend, also single, onAugust 4th.Congratulations are in order.

Bright Family: Tim and Twyla continue toenjoy reasonably good health. However, Twyla was severely ill during the first part ofAugust. She is now nearly fully recovered and back working atLincoln Community School. She is the Language Arts Departmenthead, co-ordinator forthe school year book, and isinvolved inseveral othercapacities.

As Ghana Christian College begins their 36th academic year on Sept10th, Tim will be teaching Church Administration,Life ofChrist, Romans and Galatians, and aclass on cults that involves two different levels all meeting in the same room.

At this time the six Bright children and their spouses are doing well (four are married). They are all working, and/or incollege.

TIM'S TIDINGS

Since September a lot has happened. Below is a summary of the events, mostlyon the road.

• Since Sept. - Tim has heiped five new churches, lour nights of Jesusfilm plus preaching on Sundays. There are two new church in Cape Coast. Timshowed the Jesus film in the old part and preached to churches on Sunday,Sept. 9. The next weekend. Sept 15-17 Tim showed the Jesus fiim to a newchurch in Ateiku. They had 15 baptisms, 100 people present on Sunday momingand a great oftering. That evening Tim and evengeiist, John Adjei Mensah,met with a new church and brethren in a major gold mining city of Tarkwa.The group there is very interested in having fellowship with ChristianChurches. Sept. 28, 29 and 30 Tim helped inaugurate Peace Christian Churchin the southern part of Accra. The drive through the city is two houre fromwhere Tm and Twyla live, although it is oniy about 20 miles away! Seven newpeople ga\« their li\«s to Christ on Sunday, Sept. 30. They were to bebaptized that evening in the second largest baptistery in the world, theAtlantic Ocean.

• GCC opened for the new academic year Sept. 10 with registration. Thereare 88 students this year. There were 57 during August Sessions. Ourclasses continue to remain full. Student housing on the existing campus is

also filled up. Tim Is teaching a class in Romans/Galatians; ChurchAdministration; Life of Christ; and Cults. He also serves as Chairman of theNery busy Spiritual Life Committee. He is acting secretary of theStaff-Welfere Committee. He is also the recording secretary of theRelocation Committee in charge of all major decisions on the building of thenew campus.

She continues to work at Lincoln Community School as Head of Language Artsand Year Book Coordinator among other things. This means she teaches a goodshare of the high school English courses and sees that the Year is going tohappen on time.

COLLEGE HAPPENINGS

First term heads to the final weeks as the term winds down. The Christmas

Party will be Nov. 29 this year, the final day of the term. Once again, Timis "Program Coordinator and the MC.

GCC has 88 students this year. This is a slight increase over the previoustwo years. The College is operating at just about maximum since the majorityof the students live in College housing which is not adequate for any kind ofCollege life. The library has been in dire need of added space and there isnone.

BUILDING PROGRESS

Therefore, the new campus continues to mo\« ahead. Phase two is slowlymoving toward competition. The new library-administration building will 1begin in January 2002. Ground breaking may begin Jan. 11.
