Enjoy your Easter Holiday and Spring Break – April 17 – 21, 2017

The Easter Triduum begins with the Vigil of Holy Thursday. It marks the end of the forty days of Lent and the beginning of the three-day celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ - Holy Thursday,

Good Friday and Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday. The Fathers of the Second Vatican Council reminded us of the

extraordinary significance of the Triduum : "Christ redeemed us all and gave perfect glory to God principally through his paschal mystery: dying he destroyed our death and rising he restored our life. Therefore the Easter Triduum of the passion and resurrection of Christ is the culmination of the entire liturgical year."

These last Forty Days were a time of preparation for these great Three days, which is what Triduum means. These three days lead us to an empty tomb and an Octave, eight days, of celebrating the Resurrection. They also introduce an entire liturgical season, the Easter Season, which lasts for Fifty days until Pentecost.

Prayers for our community Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

We ask you to keep the following friends and families in your prayers, For Shelia Cover, sister of Ann Allen For Debbie Seccombe, grandmother of Michaela Corso

For the students and families of Saint Bridget School

For the men and women of the armed services May God bless and hold these people close to Him in this time of need.

If you would like to have an intention included, please send the name of the intended person, family, or cause in writing to [email protected] no later than Monday. Since this goes beyond the

prayers we hold in our heart, we ask that you secure the permission of the individual or family to share your

intentions. God has blessed us in so many ways, with prayer being one of His greatest gifts. Why is it important for school families to support the 2016-2017 Campaign for Educational Excellence? Monies raised now will directly benefit your child’s education next year.

A strong Campaign maintains affordable tuition and minimizes tuition increases.

This Campaign provides funding for fine arts, athletics, technology resources, classroom materials and

professional development. Tuition is not tax-deductible while gifts to the Campaign are fully tax-deductible.

Every gift matters, make yours today. Contributions can be sent to the school office or made online via E-giving

by June 30, 2017.

Field Day 2017 is Friday, June 2! Please check out our sign-up to help us make it the best one yet:

http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f4baaaa2ca13-stbridget1 Don’t delay---these spots go fast!

Questions? Contact Florinda Chun, [email protected]

Dear Parents,

The school wide Field Day is scheduled for June 2nd and it is fast approaching. The event will be

held at the Benedictine Abbey at 12829 River Rd, Richmond, VA 23238 from 8:30AM to 12:00PM. Students should be dropped off directly at the Abbey and parents may begin dropping students off at

8:00AM. There is one entrance into the Abbey and we ask that cars go around the circle in front of the school building before dropping off their children behind the football field stands near the pavilion so that

students do not have to cross the street. At dismissal, parents should park and come to football field to pick up students. Students will be seated by homeroom.

There are many volunteer opportunities for parents who are able to help out for this great day. A

sign up genius will be sent out with the Bridget Bulletin shortly. Some of the needs are for items to be brought for the day and leading stations. Please note that limited parking will be available. We ask

that only parent volunteers plan to park on the property. Also, be aware that no pets are allowed on the property.

A contest will be held for the Field Day T-shirt design. Any interested students should submit their

design on 8.5 x 11 paper. All entries should include the words St. Bridget Field Day 2017 and should be centered and outlined in black sharpie. Entries should be submitted to Mrs. Barry (4A) by April 25th.

We also need to receive shirt sizes for all students, along with $5 to purchase the shirts. Please return the form below with the money to your child’s homeroom teacher. Make checks payable to St. Bridget

School. Please send in one t-shirt form per family.

The permission slip for Field Day can be found attached to this form. Please return this to your child’s homeroom so that we know your child has permission to participate in the Field Day activities on June 3rd. Both forms should be returned with t-shirt money by April 11th.
