BRIDGE WELDING CERTIFICATION Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Oklahoma State University Thursday & Friday, August 15 - 16, 2019 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Course Location: C & G Inspection - 118 Lynn Road, Meeker, OK 74855 The course location is the workshop of the welding inspector, Paul Childers. You will be required to bring your own welding machine to this course location. We only have 8 spots available for this very limited course, so please enroll your personnel as soon as possible. This (2) two-day course is for experienced welders capable of passing the AASHTO/AWS D 1.5M/D 1.5 welding code certification test. On the first day, welders will review the welds they will be required to perform on the test. They will also be evaluated to determine if they have the skills necessary to become certified. To be certified to weld on bridges, welders will need to pass 1st plate test in 3-G vertical position and 4-G overhead position to qualify on unlimited thickness material in any position. Note to participants: If the inspector determines the student has the necessary skills, the student will begin testing on the first day. Please bring a copy of your purchase order for $80 on the first day. A welding certification firm will test welders on AASHTO/AWS D1.5M/D 1.5. Those passing will be certified. There is a cost of $80.00 for the certification test. The local government agencies will be invoiced by the welding certification firm whether they pass or fail the exam. The Oklahoma LTAP Program will pay for the inspector, facility cost, and $270.00 of the $350.00 testing and certification fee, the welders must pay the remainder of $80.00 to the welding certification firm. On the first day, a welding certification firm will test welders on AASHTO/AWS D1.5M/D1.5. Those passing will be AASHTO/AWS D1.5M/D1.5. certified. There is a cost for

the certification test. The welders or their counties will be invoiced by the welding certification firm whether they pass or fail the exam.
