    When I was a child I had a teddy bear.

    His name was Brian Brown.

    He told me many stories about his life.

    This is the first story he ever told me.

    I would like to share it with you.

    Have you brushed your teeth, Brian Brown? asked Mum in the morning.

    No, I havent, answered Brian.

    One day you will find big holes in them, said Mum.

    No, I wont, replied Brian.

    Have you had a shower, Brian Brown? asked Mum in the afternoon.

    No, I havent, answered Brian.

    One day you will find a big bug on your body, said Mum.

    No, I wont, replied Brian, busy with his toys.

    Have you washed your hands, Brian Brown? asked Mum, just before dinner.

    No, I havent, answered Brian.

    One day you will find worms crawling on your palms. said Mum.

    No, I wont, replied Brian, watching TV.

    Have you at least cleaned your nails, Brian Brown? asked Mum at the table.

    No, I havent, answeredBrian.

    One day you will find carrots growing under them, said Mum.

    No, I will not, replied Brian, with emphasis on not.

    What is this horrible smell? asked Dad.

    It is just the wind blowing in your direction, honey, replied Mum.

    Brian pretended he didnt have the slightest idea what they were talking about.

    Brian was eating very fastto go and sit in front of the TV.

    Are you chewing your food properly, Brian Brown? Dad wanted to know.

    No, I am not, answered Brian.

    One day you will have a bigstomach-ache to complain about, said Dad.

    Then he placed the fork, spoon and knife on the plate and ran to watch his

    favourite TV program,

    Dad took Brian to bed and kissed him for sweet dreams.

    In the middle of the night, while Brian was sleeping in his warm, but smelly bed a

    rat came around.

    Mmmmm.What a nice smell! thought the rat.

    And he followed the smell until he got to Brians feet.

    He licked and licked, but luckily for Brian, he didnt have time to chew it. Brian

    pulled his feet under the blanket to avoid the tickling. The rat sat and waited.

    A skunk was passing by the window.

    MmmmmmWhat a nice smell! thought the skunk.

    Then he followed the smell until he got to Brians armpit.

    He licked and licked, but luckily for Brian, he didnt have time to bite it. Brian

    lowered his arm towards his body under the blankets, to avoid the tickling.

    The skunk jumped out of the bed, but sprayed his smelly liquid like rotten eggs.

    He woke up very early that day and was already on his third bath, polishing his

    nail, scrubbing his whole body and brushing his teeth, almost at the same time.

    He didnt know what the smell was, but thought it was better to keep everything

    clean from now on.

    Edinaldo do Esprito Santo was born in So PauloBrazil in April, 1970.

    Since the age of five he had a passion for reading and drawing.

    At the age of ten he was reading from comic books to Jean Paul Sartre and at this age he was

    introduced to what later became another passion, the English language.

    At the age of seventeen he enrolled for the first time in a language course and studied English at Fisk

    Schools, an American popular language school in Brazil.

    In 1994 he finished a degree in languages, but started teaching in 1993, at the age of 23.

    In 1996 he went to the USA to improve his English at Florida International University and in 1998

    he came to England for the first time, living in London for five months.

    When he returned to Brazil, he went back to the classroom and taught for a year, but London had

    become part of his life and in 2000 he decided to return to England.

    Eleven years later and he is still living in London. Now at the age of 41 he has his own company

    called London Lessons Ltd, founded in June 2011, where he teaches Brazilian Portuguese to English

    and foreigner students. Plans for 2012 include expanding his business to teach English, Italian and

    Spanish, amongst other languages.

    He spent most of these eleven years teaching for Colleges around London such as International

    House, North Kingston Centre and Lambeth College, to mention a few and has worked for big

    organizations as translator, proof-reader and interpreter.

    He spends most of his time teaching, writing, drawing and trying to learn how to play the guitar.

    Technology is also a great part of his life and everything he does, in one way or another involves a

    computer and the Internet.
