in San Francisco, California, U.S. . It was named after an American bulldog named "Zinga".

Zynga has been taking steps to cut expenses and expand its business into areas such as

licensed board games, online gambling, its own gaming platform (Zynga.com), and mobile

national companies. Deal-of-the-day (also called flash sales or one deal a day) is an e-commerce

business model in which a website offers a single product for sale for a period of 24 to 36 hours.

Potential customers register as members of the deal-a-day websites and receive online offers and

invitations by email or social networks.

It was launched in November 2008, and the first market was Chicago, followed soon thereafter by

Boston, New York City, and Toronto. By October 2010 Groupon served more than 150 markets in

North America and 100 markets in Europe, Asia, and South America, and had 35 million registered
