Proposals are limited to restriping existing pavement
On-street parking is being preserved on Braeburn Dr
Fast process: Construction from summer through fall 2017
No additional cost to Fairfax County to implement proposed changes,
marginal additional cost to VDOT
What are pedestrian, bicycle and safety issues in this corridor and can they be
addressed through restriping?

Braeburn Dr• From Guinea Rd to Olley Ln• Average Daily Traffic: 1,400• Speed Limit: 25 mph• Bicycle Master Plan calls for
sharrows between Guinea Rd and Kristin Ln, however the pavement width is wide enough to allow for bike lanes along entire segment

Benefits:Provide dedicated space, separate from vehicles.Allows bicyclists to ride at a comfortable speed without interfering with
vehicles in the travel lane.
