Company Background

BIKEISTA was created in February of 2014 by Lucas Plumb, PhD, an architect and psychologist who uses a bicycle as her primary mode of transportation. “I have ridden my bike to work at various times in my life and eventually I started riding to the symphony, to parties and to grocery shop as well. I began to buy clothes that were dressy, but easy to ride in. People would often ask where I found them so I decided to start a business that would make these kinds of clothing more available and support women in using their bikes for transportation. BIKEISTA also employs a merchandising director, Cecilia Yang, and an administrative assistant/seamstress, Penny Potter. Yuliya Rachel has served as a consultant and has been extremely valuable to learning the ropes of the fashion business
