• Over a spat with Goddess Mahalakshmi, Lord Vishnu confined himself in an anthill.

Though Lord Shiva and Brahma came to his rescue in the form of a cow and a calf, an

angry cowherd hit the anthill with an axe, wounding Vishnu’s head. Goddess Parvathy

appeared then and did something.

• What present day practice continues because of this legend?

3.• Long before ________________ DMA Design, was working on a game called Race’n'Chase. The

concept for the game was defined as: “The aim of Race’n'Chase is to produce a fun, addictive and

fast multi-player car racing and crashing game which uses a novel graphics method.”

• As far as the play testers were concerned, the game sucked, except for one glitch which made the

police in the game go crazy for no reason. Instead of politely pulling you over, the cops would ram

you off the road (their AI was accidentally trying to drive through the player). Suddenly everyone

was crashing non-stop. Play testers thought this was hilarious, and in fact abandoned the

missions just to screw around and see what kind of mayhem they could cause. The designers

decided to not only leave the psychotic cops in there, but build the entire game around the kind of

ridiculously violent car chases caused by the glitch.

• In an era that saw a slew of great Nadeem-Shravan's soundtracks was one which

sealed the success of Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Parwal and that of the composers too.

The producer was strictly of the opinion that the movie could possibly only ride on the

success of its music. Moreover the poster of the movie had a element of curiosity and

along with the great music, ensured that the cinema halls were packed?

• A recent blockbuster movie shared the concept about music and incorporated a new

idea to ensure every track becomes a hit. It also adopted the similar style in the poster,

however it did not create any curiosity this time for obvious reasons.

• It led to the introduction of toilets on trains.

• There were no toilets in all classes of Indian railways by 1909. Babu Okhil Chandra Sen

shot this complaint letter to the Transport Superintendent at Sahibaganj, following which

railways were compelled to introduce toilets in all lower class coaches in trains running

at a speed of more than 50miles per hour. This letter is on display at the Railway

Museum in New Delhi.

• The Hank McCune Show was an American sitcom. NBC placed it on its national

primetime schedule at the start of the 1950-51 season. McCune portrayed a television

variety show host named after himself, and each week the character managed to

blunder his way into a variety of comic predicaments.

• In which way was this show the first of its kind?

• In the mid 19th century, German bankers needed a quick way to get stock exchange

prices from Paris, but had no means to achieve this due to the inaccessibility of the

telegraph system from Germany to France. A young German bank clerk, Paul Julius X,

came up with a plan-he used carrier pigeons, which became the missing link between

Berlin and Paris. The carrier pigeons were much faster than the post train, giving X

faster access to stock news from the Paris stock exchange. Thus, in 1851, X was

founded.
