Bosch Solar Energy offers photovoltaic
modules consisting of highly efficient
monocrystalline silicon solar cells in
156 mm x 156 mm format manufactured
in its own integrated production pro-
cess. These solar modules impress
thanks to their high efficiency and stable
yields. There are two performance
classes with 48 or 60 cells per module
with the performance classes dependent
on the number of cells in the module.

Detailed layout of a crystalline solar module
The type of module suited to your needs
depends on the installation location and
the available size of your roof on your
home.
Photovoltaic modules made with mono-
crystalline solar cells excel thanks to
their high efficiency and are therefore
particularly suitable for small, optimally
positioned rooftops. Monocrystalline
solar modules feature a black surface,
which, together with their ultra-slim
structure, add aesthetic appeal.
The only difference between monocrys-
talline modules with 48 cells or those
with 60 cells is their size. The decision
on whether to use the smaller or larger
module depends on the available instal-
lation area.
The Bosch Solar Energy product portfo-
lio also contains polycrystalline solar
modules and thin film modules.
Polycrystalline solar modules have a
lower efficiency than their monocrystal-
line counterparts. You can identify them
easily thanks to the blue shimmering,
crystal-like surface of their cells. Thin
film modules are primarily used in large
area installations.

Our products Everything from a single source
4| Crystalline solar modules
The production facilities in Arnstadt
cover the entire value added chain,
from crystal pulling (drawing ingots)
and wafer production through to solar
cell and module manufacture. The
Center of Expertise consists of an
ultramodern research and development
center, a vocational training center, and
the company headquarters. An inte-
grated production process enables
Bosch Solar Energy to guarantee com-
pliance with high quality standards at
all stages in the value added chain.
Quality starts with the purchase of raw
materials and leads to stable products,
which are crucial for maximizing returns
on your investment.
Bosch Solar Energy's main plant and Center of Expertise
New production processes and the next product generations are developed
at the Center of Expertise and main plant for crystalline photovoltaics in
Arnstadt, Germany.
Our partners extract high-purity silicon from quartz sand, which we then use throughout all stages in our modern solar
cell production process.

Solar modules are an sustainable invest-
ment. For this reason, we pay close
attention to the performance of our
products during their long-term use.
Comprehensive checks and tests assure
you and us both that Bosch solar mod-
ules deliver what we promise.
We monitor the long-term performance
of modules when exposed to high and
low temperatures, high humidity and
salty air, which also enables us to guar-
antee installations in coastal areas.
Mechanical load and suction load tests
which go beyond the requirements
specified in industrial standards allow us
to ensure that Bosch solar modules are
able to withstand all weather conditions.
We also pay attention to the smallest
details while production is in progress.
For example, electroluminescence tests
are performed on each module to ensure
that Bosch's high quality standard is
maintained for each module. Selected
installations are studied and evaluated
on a regular basis and the knowledge
gained is taken into account when devel-
oping new generations of solar modules.

Weather resistance is an important factor
"It has always been an unbearable thought to me that someone could
inspect one of my products and prove that I supply an inferior product in
some way. Thats why I have always tried to only deliver products which
withstand the closest scrutiny products which prove themselves supe-
rior in every respect." Robert Bosch, 1918.

Warrantiesfor you and your future
Product warranty*:
Bosch Solar Energy guarantees that purchased modules are free of material and
processing defects.
Warranty period: 10 years for crystalline modules.
Performance warranty*:
Bosch Solar Energy guarantees that modules achieve the minimum output speci-
fied on their data sheet.
Warranty period:in the case of crystalline modules, we guarantee 90 % of the
specified minimum output on the data sheet for 10 years and 80 % for 25 years.
Warranty claim*:
In the event of a warranty claim, Bosch Solar Energy AG will, at its own
discretion, replace the module with a new module of the same type,
eliminate the defects, or refund the lost revenue of the relevant module.
Thanks to our meticulous development process, an ultramodern produc-
tion system and extensive testing, we are able to offer end customers the
following warranties for Bosch solar modules in addition to the contractual
warranty provided by the respective vendor.
*This is only a basic outline of our warranty coverage. You can find the full warranty conditions for
photovoltaic modules at www.bosch-solarenergy.com, or request them from your installer.

Quality certificates
Crystalline solar modules | 7
We test two and half times longer than the period specified by DIN (German
Institute for Standardization) to make even more accurate statements on
longevity and the associated high quality of our modules.
Companys certificates
Quality management: from silicon and
high-performance solar cells to long-
lasting solar modules, Bosch Solar
Energys high quality standard for its
production process has been tested and
certified according to DIN EN ISO9001:2008.
Environmental management: in terms
of protecting the environment, sustain-
ability and responsibility also form part
of our core values in company activities
(certified in accordance with DIN EN
14001:2009) in addition to greenenergy generation from our solar
modules.
TV-certified: TV Rheinland verifies,
for example, that our c-Si M 60 module
passes mechanical and suction load
tests as per IEC 61215, Edition 2, the
salt spray test as per IEC 61701 and
the ammonia resistance test as per IEC62716. You can see the results by
entering ID no. 0000025913 into the
online certificate data platform at
www.tuev.com.
Product certificates and awards
Bosch Solar Energy solar modules are able to withstand all weather conditions, even
in coastal areas. TV Rheinland has tested our modules and confirmed that they can
support a mechanical load of over 5,400 pascals, or about 550 kilograms per squaremeter, which corresponds to about 880 kilograms of weight acting across the
surface of a crystalline module with 60 cells. No matter whether they are exposed to
snow, hail, rain, or wind, our modules are able to withstand most conditions.
The mechanical and wind suction load test as per IEC 61215, Edition 2, certifies
the suitability of our crystalline solar modules to withstand wind, snow, ice and
structural loads up to 5,400 Pa.
The salt spray test as per IEC 61701certifies that tested crystalline solar modules
provide resistance to corrosion caused by salt spray, a problem which may arise in
coastal areas.
The ammonia test as per IEC 62716certifies resistance of our crystalline solar
modules to high exposure to ammonia, a condition found in places such as agricul-tural buildings.
Bosch solar modules conform to the strictest standards. The crystalline modules
c-Si M 60 EU 30117 and c-Si M 60 S EU 30117 were honored with a prestigious
Plus X Awardin 2011, when they impressed in the High Quality, Design, and
Ecology categories.
