Riddles, puzzles and plays vol. 2

Preface

In this second volume of the collection Riddles, Puzzles, and Plays the composer, Borislava Taneva is even more putting her musical understanding, pedagogical ex-perience, and taste to creare a wonderful puzzle of varied pieces, along with ideas, suggestions for further reading, introduction to newer ideas and exploration pro-positions.

Her technical expertise and experience of contemporary music is evident almost immediately with pieces that require you to play in the black and white keys, in each hand, while the introduction of irregular subdivisions of the 8/8 time igna-ture come in naturally, as well as a game to fill in the missing time signature in the next piece.

Magic fairies, old carousels, an infamous perpetuum mobile, nostalgia... everything can be found in these 25 pieces, each one requiring more than one read-ing to delve deeper into the different layers and explore all the nuances of the notation.

Enjoy.

Autumn moodBorislava Taneva

Paint an "autumn" picture. Have you ever made anything like an herbarium out of autumn leaves? Google it Would you give another title to this piece? What would that be?

Educational goal: Improvement of legato technique and the crossing of the hands.
