INTRODUCTION

DEVARAHALLI V ILLAGE LOCATED IN CHANNAGIRI .TQ. DAVANGERE DIST. KARNATAKA .STATE .WE INTERACTED WITH THE VILLAGE PEOPLE AND GOT AWARE OF THEIR PROBLEMS . THE MOST SEVERE PROBLEM IS DRINKING WATER.THE REASON FOR IT IS DUE TO HARDNESS .THEIR IS DIFFICULTY IN FETCHING WATER FROM THE TUBE WELL . AS THE WATER TABLE IS VERY LOW HENCE IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO LIFT WATER FROM SUCH DEPTH.IT ALSO MAKES THE WATER TOO HARD DUE TO SUCH DEPTH. WE ARE GOING TO SOLVE THEIR WATER PROBLEM TO SOME EXTENT.

RAINY SEASONSUMMER SEASON

FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE TO THE FARMERS.

Called the villagers to the vidyalaya on 17-12-2010 to show the demonstration on rain water harvesting which was installed in our vidyalaya . Our project group students

had explained to the villagers about the advantages of recharging of bore well

through rain water harvesting.

EXPERIENCE OF FARMERS IN OUR SCHOOL They were also taken to the bore well which is

connecting the rain water harvesting pipes from the roof of our school building in academic block

Villagers were also shown the water report showing how rain water helps to reduce the fluoride content in water.

They were advised to follow the same in their village

We sent a letter to panchayat to take necessary measures to implement this to recharge the ground water to solve the water problem for drinking and for agriculture

VILLAGERS WITNESS THE PLANT

Recharge the bore wells through RAIN WATER HARVESTING.

Encouraging the Farmers to take up Modern methods of irrigation like Drip & Sprinkler irrigation systems in their fields.

Solution
