To address the noise polluon from the airport, the M50 and St Margaret’s Road, the compact highly insulated building volume screens the internal spaces and gardens. A noise barrier along the M50 provides addional noise aenuaon. FACADE - SOLAR SHADING AND NATURAL DAYLIGHT. The diverse operaonal elements of the compact building are wrapped with a unifying perforated screen of silver anodized aluminium. The screen accentuates the topography of the roof and the tower and changes its appearance from solid to transparent according to weather, dayme and solar posion. The external enveloppe of the building achieves a U-Value of 0.15 for the solid walls, 1.2 for the double glazing and an airghtness of 1.8 m3/m2.hr. To maximize the use of natural daylight, operable external blinds with windspeed resistance of 15 - 25 m/s are fied to all sensive areas and operated by the BMS (Building Management System) controlling solar gain along with with the fixed external perforated metal skin that warps the enre building. “TAKING ITS INSPIRATION FROM INDUSTRIAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDINGS, AND COMBINING IT WITH A SOPHISTICATED OFFICE ENVIRONMENT, THE BUILDING FORMS A UTILITARIAN LANDMARK” BIODIVERSITY AND ATTENUATION. The extended parkland establishes a new flora and fauna on a former Brownfield Site. The treatment of surface water run-off occurs throughout the site in different forms, from the nave grasses of the aenuaon and filtraon area in the car park to a densely planted swale along the eastern border, to a water and aenuaon feature addressing the new entrance. ROOF AND TOWER

INTERNAL GARDENS. The deep plan of the building is cut by a series of gardens meandering through the building to provide natural daylight, orientation, identification and a continuous connection of all areas to the landscape. The various colours and circular patterns are achieved with a multilayered epoxycoating on polished concrete slabs.

INTENSIVE GREEN ROOF. The intensive landscaped roof extends the external landscape over the building and follows the rising topography. The roof provides venture points over the periphery and a boardwalk makes it an accessible amenity.
