Emails or phone messages are not accepted. All application booking requests are reviewed by park staff to ensure the suitability of the booking and compliance with park-use regulations. Staff follow up with a formal confirmation upon receipt of completed application. To retain your site, payment is due immediately upon receipt of contract. Application form available at burnaby.ca/forms Fees Fees are adjusted each year and are dependent upon location, type of event and group size. All groups are required to purchase or provide proof of adequate insurance. (Additional charges will be levied to cover expenses incurred as a result of providing excessive clean-up, additional equipment, materials, supervision or to cover costs of damage to the facility or equipment). All fees are non-refundable. Securing Your Site All bookings are from 8am-8pm. It is your responsibility to secure your site on the day of your event. Please arrive early. Park staff are not available to assist with holding your site. Vehicle Access Vehicle access is not permitted in our picnic sites to help preserve the park site and environment, for safety reasons and out of consideration for other park users. Please plan your picnic with this in mind. Special Services Food Service If food is being served exclusively to the people you have invited to your picnic, you are not required to have a health permit. During private functions, guests must be easily identifiable (ie. name tags). For other situations, you must have a health permit. Contact Fraser Health at 604-918-7683 for more information. www.fraserhealth.ca Alcohol The consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited on park property except in designated beer gardens under controlled conditions and with prior approval. Barnet Marine ParkLocated on spectacular Burrard Inlet, Barnet Marine Park is the perfect place to go for a swim in the ocean or a walk along the trails. Concession available (weather dependent) from mid June to early September. Concession 24 Hour Info Line: 604-297-4859

Whether you prefer the spectacular mountain views from Confederation Park, soaking in nature amidst the towering pines of Central Park, watching the tug boats along the river at Fraser Foreshore Park or getting up close and personal with sea life at Barnet Marine Park, the City of Burnaby has a picnic location for everyone’s taste. All you have to do is pack your basket!

Casual PicnicFor small casual groups, picnic areas are located in many of Burnaby’s parks and are available with no advance booking on a first come, first served basis. For more information about our parks and site amenities, visit our website at burnaby.ca/active

Booking a Group Picnic SiteIf you are planning a birthday, family reunion or a get together with friends, ensure that your picnic area is reserved by booking ahead. Sites available for booking are Barnet Marine, Burnaby Fraser Foreshore, Central and Confederation parks. If your group is more than 200 people, booking side by side sites is required. Please don’t overcrowd your site as it impacts the quality of your event, other park users, and causes strain and possible damage to park resources. Signs indicate picnic sites which must be reserved. All sites are available for booking from May to September.

Confederation ParkThis busy park site contains opportunities for tennis, bocce, baseball, children’s playground, soccer and lacrosse. There is a skateboarding park, as well as a running track. During the summer, the spray pool is open and the model steam railway is operating. The northern section of the park offers quiet walking trails.

Burnaby Fraser Foreshore ParkThis picturesque park along the Fraser River features trails and a children’s playground, as well as two outdoor volleyball courts.
