the Client

Lygo is a social and fairtrade startup company which helps small companies in Senegal to grow sustainably by making them manufacture promotional items for its clients in France.

the ChallenGe

Lygo asked me to help them improve their communication supports print and digital in order to give a more pro-fessional and attractive image to their clients and future investors. As the company has limited financial ressources and no previous marketing work started, the challenge was to find cheaper solutions with a big impact on the brand awareness.

Poster prototype - Sketching

solution 1 : a projeCt poster

« I want to offer a fairtrade promotio-nal item »The challenge was to explain in a fun and understandable way the business design through the process of making a pro-motional item at Lygo, from the product idea to the positive impacts of choosing a fairtrade product. The idea was to relate the full process with a client centered view by making it clear and simple with a touch of humour and lighteness in the business topic. The poster has been printed to be part of a communication package for future investors, and also be used for the website in its digital version.

The idea was to make the company impacts meaningful with the same touch of fun as the poster previously created. The aim was to get a creative support we want to keep on our desk and not just a brochure you read and throw out. The brochure has been printed to be part of a communication package for future investors, and also be used for the website in its digital version.

Lygo, the fairtrade promotional itemThe challenge was to make a full reban-ding of the website in a fun and unders-tandable way by introducing the new logo and style guide, new editorial and visual contents and new architecture. The aim was to enhance the product catalogue, the services included, the co-creation process and the company’s social mission through a more attractive, clear and professional digital support. The website has an inter-ractive product catalogue with 6 themes presented more than 130 products, with a strong focus on the travel area which is the main field of the company.

Website achitecture brainstorming

Brief

Work process

# participatory social housing # ecological impact

the Client

Alfamaa is an association of 14 people (included me) who won in February 2016 a call for projects from Paris cityhall to create an innovative participatory housing project in Paris.

the ChallenGe

To win the call for projects, Alfamaa needed to present communication supports with a strong visual impact. The challenge was to create a visual identity and documents reflecting the values, the group cohesion and the co-design work made by the 14 people and their partners, from the living concept to the architectural project to the third place project planned for the opening on the neighborhood, to the legal and financial solution for the whole operation.

I work both on the co-conception of the whole pro-ject and on the creation of the communication materials.

solution 1 : loGotype & style GuiDe

Alfamaa, the place of cooperative & sustainable living The challenge was to create a logo and elements for the visual identity reflecting the fundamental values of the association. The aim was to enhance the social mis-sion, the ecological impact and the repro-ducible nature of the project through fun and understandable visual elements. The logo, in black and white, represents the architectural project in 2 living buil-dings crossed by a rift of light and earn by the vegetation, into an open cercle, symbol of union and opening. The typographic choice leans on the mix of 3 different fonts reminding of the field and values of the project. These are the 3 fonts used in the logotype :• True north 3d : capital letters with a

urban stencil effect for titles ;• Pacifico : bold hand-written letters

used for « Alfamaa », secondary titles and people’ names ;

• Blogger Sans : font sans serif with a simple, rounded and understandable style for common text.

As Alfamaa is first of all a human project, the idea was to show its reproducible nature through playmobil avatars where everybody can recognize himself. The work has however consisted of making each playmobil like each people of the associa-tion.As the project wanted to show its repro-ducible and universal nature, an icon set illustrates, in a fun and understandable way, the different collective spaces, activi-ties and services offered in the project.

solution 2 : set of projeCt DoCuMents

Alfamaa, the place of cooperative & sustainable living The challenge in the conception of the ren-der documents for the call for projects was to translate the co-design work we did, during almost 2 years, into an attractive and visually strong presentation. The created documents include : • 100 pages presentation book A3• summary on A4 (both sides)• 2 boards on A0• 3D model of the architectural project• short video (5min)The aim of all the documents, and espe-cially the 100 pages book, was to give a living presentation which give the desire to be read. So, the idea was to illustrate as many ideas as possible with infographics and references photos. This work is currently exposed at « Pavillon de l’Arsenal » in Paris.
